Any front bumper paint chipping issues with 09 TSX?

I know this car is not even two weeks old but I was wondering if anyone has put a lot a miles on the car yet to see if the front bumper has paint chipping problems like the 1st gen TSX. Seems to me that the 09 has more flat spots on the front for rocks and debris to chip up.

The only way to avoid the chipping is to get a clear bra.

+1

Do it you won't regret it - for this or for any new car. It's not that expensive either.

I know I heard that the older TSX and TL had real bad problems with paint chipping and flaking on the bumper. Most thought it was a cheap paint job done at factory.

It's because of water based paint.

I would put on a clear bra too, especially on that grill.

Any recommendations for where to get Clear Bras installed, or is it something you can apply yourself?

I recommend a professional to do it. I would google it online for the nearest shop. Ask about their samples on the cars they did it on.

Make sure they wrap the edges, too.

Why not? Just use a soft foam pad and a very very light paint cleaner product instead of a full-on polish. Otherwise, Plexus works fine.

...and for what's not covered with the clear bra, treat it as normal.

I wonder how it will perform on a FWD car. I still wish Acura would consider a SH-AWD on the TSX. Opps.. Wrong thread. Sorry.

Anyone have any paint chipping problems on their 09 TSX yet? i know the 1st generation has had many issues. I wonder if Acura did a better job painting or the redesigned front solved the problem.

Water-based paint, no asbestos brake pads, and who knows what other "green weenie"-related stuff is ruining our cars. Let's return to the days of the hoarse/bugg E and b dun w/it.
