Not sure where they're made from; perhaps China. But, I doubt they will give you any problems. Rebuilding is highly recommended if you get your calipers off a junkyard RL that's been sitting around for a while, or an RL that has a lot of miles. Otherwise, it won't be necessary.

I also went with 350z brembo rotors (12.8" diameter), along with EBC redstuffs. The EBC redstuffs squeal pretty often (not all the time), but I suspect this is due to brake dust. I've done the bedding process recommended by EBC and it didn't improve. I Googled it and many cars using the redstuffs have the same issue even after bedding, so it's not an RL conversion specific problem. I added brake quiet paste to the back of the pads (the shims) and the squealing went away for like 3 days, but came back. I suspect it only went away because I wiped off the brake dust from the shims, and after 3 days the build up was significant enough to squeal once in a while again. If you want quiet and not dusty brakes, I suggest going with RL OEM pads. I'm not sure which brand these are though. You can check with your dealer.

DD braking has improved. However, I wouldn't recommend these if you plan on tracking your vehicle (which from the sounds of it you are NOT), as the brake bias is worse than the OEM setup I believe. This whole brake bias business I believe is only relevant for mashing on the brakes as hard as you can (with ABS of course). With daily driving, braking will feel improved as robpp mentioned that there's greater pad area.

I don't know much about the TL-S brembos, except the following:
- requires TL-S knuckles as they are not plug-and-play with a simple bracket
- brake bias isn't great on these either if you plan on tracking, but should be slightly better than the RL setup
- much more expensive setup compared to the RL setup
- the 3G TL brembos are not exclusive to the 3G TL-S; the 04-06 3G TL dynamic (basically 6MT) comes with the same brembos as well, but Type S wasn't offered until 07+
S/O for this awesome write-up . I don't know that there many more questions to ask haha.

What i prefer to do is to find the parts at a junk hard either for TLs or RL. And when i go, i assume i'm removing all of the braking components.

xtcnrice, might have missed it altogether but which bracket did you go with, fastbrakes? I'm a little concerned on rotor specs, I'm thinking of going with Stoptech (the Brembo 324x30 ones)

I went with the FFC brackets, along with the 324x30 NAPA rotors for brembo-equipped 350z.
NAPA AUTO PARTS

They're "premium" grade NAPA rotors, but I have no idea what that means. They rust a lot more than my OEM rotors did especially at the rotor hat area. You might want to do some research on which rotors are better against rust if that bothers you. For the hat part, when I get a chance I'm going to wire wheel the rust off and caliper-paint it either black or silver. Any suggestions?

Interesting. I've got the fastbrakes bracket and the fastbrakes instructions suggest Maxima rotors (12.6) from 06 - 11 (although up to 2014 works in reality), but multiple people have used the Brembo rotors with suggest, and in fact Heeltoe who sells the damn fastbrakes bracket suggest 350Z brembo brackets lol.

As for rotors, Stoptech is generally known not to rust very much and is obviously a step above any general store rotors. I also think that EBC Ultimax rotors would be worth a look, and lots of people have used them with the RL calipers and EBC pads with great success. Plus you know that you're getting something that will work well with EBC pads which I believe you have

Interesting. I have 2 friends that run stoptech and centric rotors and have never had those issues. I think the reality is that most rotors will rust, even 700$ 2 piece BBK ones. It depends on climate, exposure to road corrosion, etc. If you want to seriously cut down on it, get them coated, and paint the rotor hats

Yeah I'm on EBC Redstuffs. Great pads. Dusty as hell though. My front wheels look more grey than bronze after about a month of not washing the car

But yeah I was on a bit of a budget. That and, there is a lot of conflicting information on whether the RL setup would fit the car or not (i.e., calipers not fitting over rotors, scratching noises during braking, etc), so I went with a setup that was at least tried and true for 1 particular individual (on honda-tech I believe). Besides the rust, I think these NAPA rotors are a great bang for the buck. Oh yeah, FFC site recommends 12.6" rotors (Maxima rotors or 350z non-brembo rotors). FFC recommends 12.8" rotors, but I'm pretty sure they could take the 12.6" ones as well. I've read more success stories with the 12.6" rotors, but if you want the big rotor look, then I say take the plunge and get the 12.8" from the get-go.

And yeah Harper linked a thread that has recently sparked some Stoptech controversy. I'm sure it's just a one-off issue and you'd be fine with Stoptech, but FWIW you should check out that thread if you get a chance

Let us (me) know of your progress if you decide to do the RL BBK!

Lol, but seriously, nice work. Your car is really looking good. Blacked out fogs is such a small mod, but looks much better IMO. Should probably go do mine and see how it looks.

Where did you get the open vents from?

LOL man.... but I'm not a rapper.
I use that gif literally on a weekly basis on whatsapp among other places

Appreciate the kind words sir! I was torn on whether I should do the dipped fog covers or not since I've been starting to accept the chrome infestation on my white car (it's not nearly as big of a contrast compared to seeing the chrome on a darker car imo). But I love it! Should've done it sooner. I think I said I'd do that on my very first post

The open vents are from the CU4 (V6 TSX). I literally got them from robpp (), but I'm sure you could find them from a random stealership. Delray Acura comes to mind as they have a huge inventory of parts on their website (Delray Acura - Online Acura Parts Store), but you should definitely check out your local dealership too if you can find the time. Note: you'll have to remove the front bumper to get this mod done. There are a lot of screws you have to undo before you can pop the vents off.

I4 (shitty unvented ones):
009 71115-TL0-G50 GRILLE ASSY., R. SIDE (LOWER)
010 71116-TL0-G50 GRILLE ASSY., L. SIDE (LOWER)

V6 (vented ones):
009 71115-TL0-G60 GRILLE ASSY., R. SIDE (LOWER)
010 71116-TL0-G60 GRILLE ASSY., L. SIDE (LOWER)

They're $35 for each side . It's a nice subtle, OEM mod for sure. But if you don't think it's worth it, it might be better to goto a junk yard (although V6 is a lot more rare than I4), or dremel the existing ones yourself . Or you could do both; goto a junk yard and get an extra set of I4 ones, and dremel those ones . That's probably the best compromise you can take as there'd be zero risk to your existing ones in the case you mess up the new ones haha

I'd like the front sport bumper, but they don't have it in NH788P. My paint code was introduced in 2012, and by then they stopped making the front sport bumper; only the rear. Acura instead uses the SE front lip as the front accessory since 2011.

I could get the front sport bumper and have it repainted... but that's a bit too much for me right now. Maybe some day... it's a nice bumper

They do, but only the JDM CU2 has it (Type S) . SE came in 2012+ and by then BWP replaced PWP.
I think someone was selling their PWP JDM Type S rear a while ago, but might have been sold. I think it was Prototype.

edit: nvm, he had the Type S side skirts (SE side skirts) in PWP: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-par...-parts-914999/

Useless without a link! I would say that anyone as enthusiast as xtc, we would probably have done our homework by now. These part numbers would only pull NH-624P as that is what Acura carries and of course is not the same!

I put in a lot of effort to research & gain knowledge on things relevant to me. While I may be willing to share information, I will not share everything! The original poster can ask me for the part number. No guarantee I'll give it to him, because I believe he is capable of finding it himself. I gave him the lead already with what I've posted already.

It is missing this lovely front grill should the front sports bumper proves to be inaccessible. I had pull this out of the box today for a stare & polish job, will use it one of these days. Need to paint the emblem backing plate to finish this project.
