We're sorry, Chivik, no literal insult intended at all, we all type like we're all friends sitting around a table doing shots and busting each other's balls. Sometimes we argue, other times we laugh (or cry) none of which was meant to be insulting.

Enlighten about whuh Jack?

it seems we have a little language barrier here.

do not worry chivik, no one is insulting you, we are all nice and like to joke around

and i think people should keep english simple in this thread, google translate might not work as well as it should

Here is what you messaged me:

Firmware includes:
VTEC on 4600
Max rpm on 8000 in manual mode
Optimized ignition angle
But you have to flash the immobilizer, it can make any dealer of Honda or Acura

*In any case do not update the firmware*

I am rather confused what I need to do since I have no knowledge. It is not your issue it's me. I have not done this before so if somebody can provide a step by step it would be helpful to me.

your car - your car ECU - no need to flash immobilizer
your car - not your car ECU (bought used) - immobilizer should flash

Yes, I bought used. It was from another car, not my car.

Now I just need to ask locally for immobilizer. Okay, I understand.

*Noob Alert*

I looked up flash immobilizer on google but I am not sure what it is. Are we talking about an additional part that I need to buy or I just need to find a somebody (a shop or a dealer) that has one and get it done for me?

One thing I wanted to bring up. The ECU reads the security chip in the keyfob. If the ECU doesn't read the security chip, it won't let the engine start. If I use a 2nd ECU, will a key need to be sent along with the ECU so the immobilizer can be reprogrammed to accept the chip in the key? I know this had to be done with some of the past Hondata products.
That answered my question...
You need the dealer to link your key to the ECU. The ECU wont let the engine start if it doesn't recgonize the chip in your key. Dealers do it all the time when people order new keys. You will have to drive to the dealer, swap the ecu in the parking lot, then run in and ask them to link your key as if you have a new key.

Many of us have interest to put down more power, but no one gives a sh!t.

JnR time to step your game up. (I doubt it)

Alright that sounds simple enough. Now I just need to wait for Chivik's friend to send me the ECU.

I wonder if I can go to a shop instead of a dealer ??

I am back in the country and I got the ECU. Now I only need to get my car back from AEM who is using my car for R&D. Once I heard from from AEM I'll let you guys know when I expect to get it done.

jack, any chance AEM would like to dyno it for you with the ECU for free? add it to their CAI R&D. they can say the difference in the CAI gains with the flashed ECU for their product

I can ask them. I know they are going to dyno it to see if their intake would make any gains. If anything I can probably get a discount and accurate dyno after I get the ECU in.

PS: I drive a dodge caliber as a rental and it's such a pile of poop. It's not just a piece of crap but a pile of it.
