I've been looking for an alarm to install in my cu2 and I came across canbus alarms that will work with our cars canbus system.
I'm curious to know what the community is using for security besides the crap factory alarm.

 

i just use the factory one....but then again, i dont live in an area where i have to worry about it.... i could literally leave my car in my front yard unlocked day and night and no one would touch it...life in the south man....that "good ol' boy" system

I'm using Viper SmartStart but more for the remote starting features. The app kind of sucks currently. Slow, have to manually refresh to see the status of things. The app doesn't report when it's triggered until the next time you go in the app. They are supposed to have released a new version early this year, still waiting.

I had the 5701 before, two way large range. It was great. I could start my car from the 11th floor when parked in the desk adjacent the building even when I parked on the second level out of three.

 

lol...OP i see you're in NJ. I'm from Jersey. I used to have everything under the sun. Stuff still got stolen. Currently I use my garage as my alarm. Like richyrich it's different in some southern areas.
