Dash Cam Fuse Issue
Hey guys, interesting thing I can't figure out...
Used passenger side console accessory (I assume cigarette lighter in console) 20a fuse number 12 for dash cam harness attachment. Used the fuse from the panel and put it in the harness with the bridge fuse piggy backing it like they show. When I plugged in the camera to it, it turned on. No key in ignition or anything, and cigarette lighter isn't functional, but the fuse somehow became hot. What am I missing? Fuse 12 on passenger panel.

Fuse 12 is always hot (power to the plug), but it has a relay between the fuse and the socket that turns the socket on. That fuse is #18, powered by the ignition
Fuse #23 is also always hot, and powers the one in the console under your right elbow..
So, maybe put your piggyback on #18 instead. Not sure what else is on that fuse tho.
Just dug this up a day or two ago for someone else complaining their lighter didnt work.
