TSX= No Push To Start
^ And to follow up on togglin b/w ACC and on you can do it just by pressin the button. To actually skip that automatically you just press the brake and the car will start up. If im not mistaken if the button is pressed (say a child does it) and the car is left in ACC/ON mode it'll eventually shut off after a preset time. Sorta like battery rundown protection.
Same deal with if you're pressin the button multiple times while the car is actually running, it'll shut the car off.
My first experience with pushbutton start was an 07 Altima. I thought that was amazing! I didn't even experience the cvt, because I kept the car in manual mode.

It is just the next step in the evolution of convenience features, much like crank windows were replaced with motors, manual mirrors with motors, powered seats, keyless entry etc... With the push-button-start w/keyless access you don't need to get the keys out of your pocket to get in and start the car, or when you leave. Handy if your hands are full, especially if it is raining and you want to use an umbrella. Someday we'll all expect it., probably not there yet though.

in the avg consumer price range, i believe it was the S2000.
i remember them playing the "F1 style push button start" thing when it first came out.

[QUOTE=I CU2;14049706]MB patented it in 1997 (if you can believe Wikipedia) but that system, like the early RL system, you had ot put the 'key' in a slot. Still even 1997 is pretty recent and the systems continue to evolve. So yes I think it is 'relatively new technology.' It is gaining ground in more and more cars but still evolving technically. Compared to power windows... yes pretty recent.
i have a '12 and if the '13 came out with push to start, keyless entry and a few other upgrades i would of been upset but i'm actually happy it was released as a 2013 model and was a carry over.
my car will remain "brand new" for another year longer.
even if the tsx was continued i don't plan on getting a tsx again in three year.. takes the fun out of leasing if you're going to continue to lease the same car..

Push button start is ambiguous.
It would be better to have keyless start, but with a "dummy key crank". The "key crank" would turn between 0-lock, I-accessory, II-On, and III-start, just like a real key crank. Engine start would be familiar, as would engine shutdown, all while leaving the key in your pocket.
it's not that i want it, it should be standard for god's sake...
also, the problem that I see on a blade key fob or other manual fobs, i can potentially be locked out of the car...
that is the only concern that I have..

still don't get it. I like the idea of keyless entry, but like I said before - push a botton - turn a key, no biggie.
