TPMS/Headlight

First of all I'm happy to be part of TSX family. Just bought '09 TSX Grigio w/o tech. last Thursday. I installed my old rims to the TSX. Now I have a TPMS in my dash. Do you think I need to inflate it more? How About the headlight or parklight that is being on all the time? Can I turn it off. I read the manual about daylight sensor thing but I don't know if you can turn it off. Thanks Guys in Advance!!!!

Once again very proud to be a TSX family and TL family!!!!

The car isnt detecting the TPMS sensors, thats why its throwing the light. You need to have the sensors installed or you need to rig a way to have them in the car showing the correct pressure to turn the light off

You have eliminated your car's TPMS by changing the wheels. The sensors were in the stock wheels you jettisoned. They were mounted inside the tire behind the valve stem. The system only works with TPMS specific wheels, so it is unknown whether new sensors can be installed in your aftermarket wheels. If not, you will always have the TPMS warning.

The lights that are on all the time are the daylight running lights. There is no way to defeat this feature save for pulling the fuse for them, but I wouldn't recommend doing that because God knows what else doing so will also deactivate.

again ... there are DRLs (daytime running lights) in addition to the OFF/ON/AUTO feature for nighttime headlights. I believe the high beam bulbs are operated at half-intensity for DRLs.

(As a side note, I wonder if the AUTO goes on in short underpasses/tunnels. Since HIDs are worn out by the number of times they're turned on -- 3000 or so per lifetime IIRC -- momentary on/off like flashing your headlights or passing through tunnels could shorten their lifespan a wee bit.)

They do go on in short underpasses and tunnels. If that's a concern for you, there are two options: turn off the auto function, or reduce the sensitivity of the light sensor using the lighting settings menu in the MID. Assuming your 3000 turn-on lifespan is accurate, the HID's would last over 8 years assuming one turn-on per day, every day. That's not bad.

Actually, I noticed that on my drive home from work (which is right around twilight) that my sensor lights do go on and off under the darkened underpasses. Its one of those things that I find slightly annoying however, I can't blame the car or sensor because of the little amount of light left during my drive home.

As long as my bulbs will lost me over 3yrs I'll be happy!

It's a very, very rough guesstimate that was bandied about in another thread. YMMVAPW.

What I've read (here) is that the "ignition" of the HID light is what ages it, not the hours that it's illuminated.

Pulling the fuse for the DRL will not affect anything else other than the lights. Therefore if you do not like the DRLs just pull the fuse. Thats what i did on my RDX!!

Ethical quandary of the week: if you pull the fuse for them, do you tell your insurance co. that you disabled the DRLs?

I think one should, they might say its irrelevant to them, but in the case that you would be involved in an accident and the DRL were de-activated, they might deny the claim and then what?! I'd feel more comfortable telling them, and to be honest, I'd rather have my DRL on all the time, we have them here in Canada for a long time and its just so much better to see on coming cars from way far during the day time....

It's a safety feature, why someone would want to disable them kinda stumps me. Would you disable the airbags as well, because if they deploy the car might be a write-off?
