Is this a good deal on tints?
First off, from searching, I found that our 09 TSXs do NOT need moleskin. This is accurate, right?
I called up a highly recommended tint shop in the Bronx, NY today (Lorenzo's), and he quoted me $275 for solarguard supreme tints, any %. He also said if moleskin is required, he would throw it in for free.
He said most white cars he works on get 28% SS.
He said all his tints carry a lifetime warranty from peeling/discoloration. But NOT from scratching.
And should I cut around the brakelight or tint behind it? What is recommended?
Thoughts? Is $275 too much? And he said cash only. Is this normal or is this a sign of shadyness?

well, if I were you I'd get higher quality tints.
ones that are rated high to block solar heat and such.
look into Huper Optik or Llumar Axcess.
tint behind the brake light.
I would never buy any tint, no matter what that's not warranteed
for life against scratching. Moleskin or not.
as for the price, it's too high for regular tint.
regular quality tint should be around $150-$180 for the car.
the Supreme from Solarguard is only midgrade by their own
standards, I'd choose something better.

I'm not too sure.
I can't find actual numbers on many tints.
which leads me to believe they're sub par to the better ones.
I'd get out the phone book and start calling around.
Ask if they install Huper Optik or Llumar Axcess.
If they say no, hang up and keep looking.
There's tons of tint shops around you, do the work and find
yourself the best tint you can, if you can afford it that is.
But be aware, the best tints are $350-$500 or so for the car,
but well worth it in the long run.
Much like most of the parts, buy quality and don't look back.
Stay away from low quality stuff and bargain deals, treat the
car with the respect I think it deserves, lol.
If you use hands free talking much or listen to FM, I'd highly recommend Llumar
Axcess. Check out their site and the online reviews. It's the
best tint to use if interference or poor radio signal is ever an issue.

I know Lorenzo's shop. It's top quality and they do excellent work but they are rather pricey. You can get equal quality tints at other shops. I just went today to get tints done at a shop in Irvington (Eagle Tinting). Excellent Shop for about $100 less.

I think I ended up paying $190 after taxes (since I charged it to a CC)
I got whatever type of tint he has. I've had my cars done there before as well as other friends of mine and his tint has always lasted a long time. Lifetime warranty FTW! lol
I got the limo tint (5%) all the way around but not the front windshield. I didnt get the banner either (so I dont have to worry about the dot matrix). Just the side windows and the rear. he tinted over the brake light which works perfect for me because I have the 3rd brake light on the wing.
