removing trunklid badges

picking up my 2010 TSX this weekend and want to know if the decklid badges are held on only with sticky tape or if there are also positioning pins behind them. Dont want to pull off the badge and find a hole. Want to remove word "Acura" and "TSX" from the trunk. Let me know if you know. Tks.

The Acura and TSX badges are held on with double sided tape and are very easy to take off. I did it with dental floss by 'sawing' back and forth behind the letters. I'm not sure where you live but if it's warm enough, parking the car in the sun will soften the tape enough to make removal very easy. A hair dryer works as well.

You may want to double up on the dental floss as it does break if you try to use a single strand. If you have fishing line, you're laughing.

It is likely that there will be some double sided tape left on the paint. I used the ball of my thumb to role it off and then used a wax remover and went over the area to make sure all the residue was gone. I then used some mild polish, or wax with cleaner in it will work, to make everything look uniform.

I've used this chemical similar to Goo Gone but safe for vehicles on the letters and let it penetrate the tape then used a rubber spatula to remove the letter off. Make sure you spray the stuff onto the spatula too. I got the stuff from a home improvement store in the paint department. The letters just popped off and didn't scratch my paint either.

I waited for a hot summer day then ripped them off with my fingers. Worked like a charm.

We got our '10 Base and the night it got delivered I was able to remove "ACURA" with my fingers, no issue and then polished it with Meguiar's. I wanted to take off "TSX" but my brother said no.
