Rear AC Vents for 2011+ TSX question

will this work for 2009-10 years? Im assuming that the '11 has an air duct that brings the air to the rear and the 09 and 10 models dont have that? Just curious if it can be converted if i were to buy the garnish assembly, part number 83403-TL0-G11ZC (#14in diagram).

The 09-010 models have rear HVAC ducts under the front seats that direct air to the rear seat passengers. What are you trying to accomplish? Rear heat/AC, or just the look?

uhh no...
if you just have #14 it's just going to have the look of vents but nothing will come out of it.
pretty sure you need #14 and anything that connects #14 to the air system of the car. you should get a diagram of both the 09/10 system like above and compare it to the an 11+ model to see.

First step would to be to study both the year models exploded views and see what the differences are.

Thanks for the tips. So it seems like 14, 15 and 16 are missing along with the garnish assembly above to do the swap.

Here's the parts list for 09-10. It only goes to #13

The parts appears to be identical. This may just be doable- which I am interested.

Keep us posted!

So I'm guessing with all the parts, its about $155 for the swap if you get all new parts.

great idea --- but I would ask for some comments on this forum asking about the volume of air that actually comes from those rear vents to see if its significant. Some cars have an additional fan motor in the back to pull more air from upfront....without it there may not be much flow, at least that's been my experience.

Looks promising. The only downside for me, is I have the tan interior, and I am not sure they kept that color option for the later years.

I have the only year they had the baby powder blue color....

You mean the glacier blue metallic color? I also have the tan interior.

here is the garnish assembly in tan color: http://parts.sonsacura.com/products/...TL0-G11ZC.html

Do the '09-'10 have the cooling vent inside the center console storage? If so, I would imagine that it is already plumbed.

the rear vents are great! we use them all the time and I don't think there is an additional fan needed.

I wondered the same thing after having a 2012 as a loaner. Now I just need someone to pull this off successfully before I buy the parts, lol.

Yeah, GBM is the color I have.

Awesome they have tan interior, seems pretty reasonable now., if you do go forward with this, please list the parts needed, I think I would give it a go.

Do the later years also include a cup cooler in the center dash?

New guy here. I am interested in this as well. I compiled what I think is a complete list of needed parts.

77505-TL0-G01ZA VALVE, DIAL *NH1L*
83403-TL0-G11ZB GARNISH ASSY., RR. *NH690L*
83417-TL0-G41 BASE, COOL VALVE
83461-TL0-G01 DUCT ASSY., RR. VENT DRIVER
83462-TL0-G01 DUCT ASSY., RR. VENT PASSENGER
83463-TL0-G41 DUCT, R. SIDE
83464-TL0-G41 DUCT, L. SIDE
83465-TL0-G41 DUCT, RR.
91550-SFJ-W01ZB CLIP, CENTER (LOWER) *NH167L*

Totals: $216 ($237 after S+H)

I pulled all of this from acuraoemparts in the *Duct* and *Console* sections.

I messed up my cover a little bit and wanted a new one

Funny how they will sell you the vents seperately, but if you want the cover, it comes with the vents.....doesn't make any sense

If you look at the acuraoemparts in the heater unit section you'll see at the far left a flat v-shaped duct and 2 gaskets labeled 44. The '09 doesn't list these and there is no option to purchase the "v duct" alone. Only with the '11 heater unit. Although, if it worked then the "v duct" and gaskets would be the last piece to the puzzle I believe.... Maybe. This looks like it would be a complete dismantle of the center console and head unit. Looking to be not worth it for rear air other than under the seats
