Is this for a push start button?

Installing my radio and noticed the back of the drivers side trim has a circular bracket for what looks like to be for a start button. Does anyone have any input on this?

This makes my heart hurt. No reason that the MMC TSX could not have been offered with keyless go. The fact that a 50k 2012 MDX did not have push button is the real head scratcher.

Welp, guess OP is about to do a semi-OEM push start mod!

Wasn't me lmao I was 15 when this car was in it's design state.

I can say that features like these get can get "cut" for a ton of different reasons, OEM's run on a super tight schedule and parts that either fall behind in development, or parts that become too expensive.. they can reach a "judgement day" and if the design team thinks that the feature could cause delays in the build, or negatively impact profit.. well.. they get chopped.Sometimes you see trails of old design work that don't impact styling or feature content so they are left there because it has no impact to performance, and save money on the tooling.

I bet it was originally designed for the secret missile system on the car. Originally designed as an anti terrorist vehicle. Too bad we lost the weapons, tank track system, and V10 engine they originally had on this car. If only they had more time to work out the bugs.

Yeah I want keyless entry... I think the luxury Accord Euro CU2 might have it. I get sad seeing an ILX parked next to me and it has the keyless entry buttons on the door handles.
