painted grill(lower part)

those of you that have the lower part of your grill painted have you had any problems with the paint sticking or adhering to the grill? i was made aware that painting the silver might give problems with paint sticking since its not made to be painted?

like defcon said, you gotta prep it well before painting. its better to do the hard work one time instead of getting it painted, then it starts peeling and then you have to do it over again.

well im inquiring with one of our vendors about getting one painted flat black with flat clear coating and he had mentioned about it possibly getting messed up if it chips down the road since the silver wasnt made to be painted. he said the shop preps it with 320 grit to scratch the silver grill enough for paint to adhere. And there will be NO paint warranty since its a part that isnt usually painted.

Plasti-dipping would be the easiest solution and if it ever chips, you can always re-spray to fix it so yea...its the cheaper and easier solution.

Correct. Just make sure you cover everything around it that you don't want plasti-dipped with newspaper.
