Hello, I have been getting an occasional P0341 code with Check Engine light, Emission/VSA warning. I clear the code and it comes back in a few days.
2011 TSX Wagon, 160k miles.
I researched and assume I probably have a stretched timing chain. I removed the head cover and set the car to TDC. TDC being the 4th mark (counterclockwise) on the crankshaft sprocket - 3 grouped marks then a small gap, then the 4th mark (working counterclockwise).
Looking at the cam sprockets (see picture below), it looks like the cam alignment is off 1 tooth.
Any input on this? Is 1 tooth enough to kick the code? The car actually performs well and revs nice. I have not noticed a loss in power.
I did this job many times and checked the chain for tension all the time, I will tell you with 100% probability that these chains do not stretch at such a mileage, most likely the ratchet on the tensioner or the chain guide broke, which led to the chain jump. You are lucky that the jump occurred by 1 tooth. Yes, one tooth can cause all these codes because your engine is running in limp mode.
