A mobile phone holder that actually works?

A mobile phone holder that actually works?
I am looking for a mobile phone holder for the large iPhone Pro Max (6.3 x 3 inches). I have not had luck with the ones that clip into your vent holes. They don't hold the phone securely and block the AC airflow.
I also don't want to stick anything on my phone like a magnet or a suction button, so that limits my choices to a holder with brackets to hold the sides of the case. Or something like the Night Ize Steelie, but that has average reviews.
Any recommendations? Not a lot of dashboard space to attach a mount, and if I use a windshield attachment, it would have to fit on the lower left of the windshield, to the left of the steering wheel. (Mounting a phone to the center section of your windshield is technically illegal in California.)
Thanks!

Hey, I still use my CD player! Still the best quality sound over XMSirius radio and most streaming options
After testing a half-dozen models of phone holders, all failed but one. The Nite-Ize brand has a "steelie" system that's got different holders that attach to your windshield, in the vent, or on the dashboard. At the end of each is a steel ball and then a magnet attachment for your phone. It can hold my almost half-pound iPhone and not fall or droop down. I am pleased with it and the quality is top-notch. I also like that the magnet attachment on the phone can be affixed permanently or temporarily. That makes it easy to move it among my different cars.

Perhaps late to the party but my wife and I both use this - https://www.weathertech.com/products...rtech-cupfone/

For the Weathertech cup mount, do you find it easy to read and operate your phone? For me, it's a bit low and out of my line of sight. But my wife loves hers in the Odyssey.

Using the cupholder will obviously be lower than clipping onto one of the vents but the do sell extensions that we both have. It still won't be as high but helps.

I use a Proclip USA mount, to a RAM ball and arm, to Quadlock mount and iPhone case. I've been using Quadlock cases on my phones/bikes for probably 5 years. Quadlock makes a wireless charging mount, but I think it'd take a little fabrication to get it on a RAM arm. Plus I use the USB connection for music because my Bluetooth connection is spotty.
