iPhone 5 works better in TSX

I just received my new iPhone 5 a couple hours ago, and I went to the car to see if the new cable works just as it did with my older iPhone.

Thankfully, the new cable works perfectly well. What's an added bonus is it looks like Apple finally figured out to not switch the phone to bluetooth audio when it's plugged into the USB. I HATED THAT! I'd always have to wait a few seconds for the bluetooth to turn on and then plug the USB in. Now when it's plugged in, bluetooth turns on and the phone doesn't switch.

(Apple haters...I know you believe iPhones suck and blah blah blah, but just realize that it's just a PHONE, not a political agenda! So no anti-iPhone chatter please...)

I'm glad your iphone can finally do something that every other smart phone on the market can do.

I prefer streaming over BT audio because the music silences via the phone while I'm getting gps instructions through the phone, and the music picks up nice and smoothly after the directive. Does the iPhone stream directions via usb? Then again, who'd want to use that new GPS service from Apple.

It does the same through USB.. why wouldn't it? Traveled 400 miles yesterday with that new GPS service from Apple... worked just like any other GPS.

If you have a Samsung, great.

If you have an HTC, nice.

If you have a Trakfone, gtfo!

I'm not gonna hate on Andriod fans. I'm sure it does lot of cool stuff, but I don't really care. I'm just used to iOS. It's like if I read in English, why would I buy a book in Chinese???

Anyway, I just wanted to share this little bit of info for anyone who was in the same boat as me when in came to connectivity to the stereo.

I tested it out and it actually does give directions through USB now. Bluetooth is nice but sometimes the quality isn't perfect because of distortions with the connection. But it just annoyed me every time I walked in the car and plugged the phone in, the bluetooth would kick in and cut the music off. No more of that.

If Google Maps becomes add free on the iPhone, I might consider it. I kinda like how the iPhone has so much support and generally offers a bug free experience, versus all the other phone offerings. I have yet to have a smart phone that actually works flawlessly without bugginess or glitching. Makes me wonder if they actually QA/QC products anymore.

I hope the OP has a TSX tech because the maps in iOS 6 won't get him where he wants to go.

@tsxster85 would you mind testing to see if it switches over to BT when you're getting into the car with headphones already plugged in?
