Grille on TSX / Accord Euro in Made in China

China's been producing domestically the Accord Euro / TSX variant since the end of 2009. The grill they have shown, I feel best the grill on the NA TSX and the Accord Euro in AU and the UK.

I know that Acura has a design them element that they are trying to maintain and that they want to create a separate brand identity, but they should have an option for buyers to choose 1 of the three grill variants w/out going aftermarket and without loosing the Acura logo.

The injection mold would cost no more than $7-10k to produce and there would be ample demand globally for such product. Even worse the CAD drawings for the molds are already in place, so the cost of implementation would even be less. Just change the logo from 'H' to 'A' on the CAD drawings, CNC the mold and start offering these grills!!!

What do the rest of you guys / gals think???

The grille reminds me of the accord coupe a little too much for my liking. Although, I do like those wheels (which doesn't pertain to the subject of this thread).

The Honda Accord Chinese version is call the Honda Spirior. The photo you saw there is just a concept vehicle SR-9 intend for car shows, hence the special front grille and LED lights front and rear.

Very much doubt they will produce the North American TSX with the Chinese factory.

As a show car I think that car looks good. I can't imagine driving it day to day though. Too much chrome. On the other hand, I do like the rear lights and fogs.

the dealer told me that the tsx is made in Japan and assembled in the US

and hey! if you dont like made in China, dont buy anything that is made in China

The fact is China make good stuff, like mac and ipod.i dont think the quality is associated with where the product was made, but how much you pay.

I thought the TSX is built in Japan and also assembled in Japan, not U.S.

I've tried to avoid Chinese made products as much as I can, sometimes, just can't, but avoid as possible.

The TSX is manufacture in Japan at the Honda factory in Sayama, Saitama Prefecture. The Japanese factory supply all TSX model to US and Canada, and the Accord/Euro to Australia/New Zealand and all of Europe.

Chinese Accord (Honda Spirior) is manufacture by Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co, is a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Corp and Honda Motor Company. In addition to the Spirior, they also produce the CRV for the Chinese market.

Agree with the Chinese made comment, my laptop (Toshiba) and TV are made in China and work flawlessly.

I bought a MacBook thinking that they were high quality computers made and designed for graphic design and photo editing and whatnot, but the overall quality of the mac itself is sad. Horrible. The only thing I like bout it is the Mac OS. I'd take a Dell with a Mac OS anyday. I bet the quality would be much higher. The paint wears offa this thing just from my hands being on it.

i have a mac book pro 17 and a mac book pro 15, they are both in great quality. mac book is a different story. and dell is made in Chian too.

i think if you got something that is good, you wont check out where it was made, but if you got something bad, you probably gonna remerber where it was made from.

in general, Japaness make good quality product for themselve, but export 2nd grade product overseas.
But, nowadays, China is trying to improve the quality of their product. dont get biased to the people and the country!

i think if you let Canada to manufacture the ipod, the costs will increase but i dot about the quality

personally, i dont think China can make a high quality car yet. But back to 10 years ago, Hyundai is piece of crap, but now people buy Hyundai. that's the different between a developing country and a developed country.

If you've ever seen some of the Honda / Toyota auto plants in Canada you would believe you were in asia. Over 65% of the work force is Asian or South Asian. My friend is a manager and said they prefer to hire Asians to work in the plants because they complain less and are 'better workers'. Please note this is not my view, as I see this as a stereotype. It's just the view of my friend who was a manager at the plant. If there is objective data to support this then it would no longer be a stereotype but a fact.

As a side note, if you buy clothing that said it's made in the USA, I can almost 100% assure you it was made my an immigrant worker.

The main consumer has lost the objective ability to ascertain quality and thus uses all these retarded metrics to determine quality, class, etc....Judge the product quality, not where it's made. Reduce the trade deficit and paymore buy buying american goods if that is your slogan. I buy the best stuff from all over the world....regardless of where it's made.

The Honda Spirior look just like a 2nd gen TSX minus the chinese langauges and the honda symbol. I know this cause i travel china every year and have seen them in person. Hondas do rule the roads over here in china, I will say. I see the honda accords everywhere and they acctually say "honda accord on the rear of the car" + plus some chinese symbols. But i rarely see the Honda Spiriors as much possibily becuase they are VERYYYY expensive here in china. Its my understanding that these cars are in fact "acuras" "tsxs" just with the "H" and the "spirior"on the side note wheres all the TLs outside of north america??

TLs are made stateside, for people stateside.
I think the TL only gets some parts from Japan, and the car is primarily made and assembled in America (correct me if i'm wrong)
