First oil change at 7900 miles

So after 6 months and 7900 miles I couldn't wait any longer and took our TSX into the dealership for it's first oil change. Oil life still at 30%, when I checked the level before hand it was right at the full mark and just golden brown (not too dark). I'm still amazed that after almost 8000 miles including break-in that the car didn't use any measurable amount of oil.

I trust the dealer I bought the car from and wanted to see how there service department handled the oil change (plus I had some "free" money I could only use at the dealership for services or parts that would expire next week). They did a great job although if I did have to use my own money it would have been about $70 for just an oil change/tire rotation. They did wash and Vacuum it which was nice. I asked the service manager what oil they use and he just said "Acura oil", I then asked if it was in bulk or by the quart. He said it came by the quart and it was semi-synthetic?

To use the rest of the money up, I bought a bunch of oil filters and a filter wrench so I can do it myself next time. So my question is what is "Acura Oil"? Rebadged Mobil Clean 5000? Or Acura's own special blend? I might be able to sleep a little easier on 8,000 mile oil changes knowing it is actually a synthetic blend.

Yeah the wash was a surprise, I didn't even see where they had a car wash to run it through? If they did hand wash it they actually did a good job. The only part they didn't clean very good was the front wheels, I found some spots that still had brake dust. Easy fix when we got home.

good to hear-the dealer I go to is excellent and they handwash the cars. I think they do an excellent job. They do ask beforehand if I want it done and I say yes.

Is Acura oil really a synthetic blend?, I've been told the same before but have not bothered to check.

i was offered three different types... conventional, syn blend and synthetic. I'm assuming if you don't ask it will be conventional oil. Ask your dealer.
