All JDM yellow fog ricer fans chime in!
I have an 09, I wanted yellow fogs, so I was just going to get yellow bulbs, but the yellow halogen bulbs tend to burn out fast.
So with this in mind, I went with 35W HID kit. The ricer in me loves the yellow output of the yellows HID's during the night but during the day when looking at the car from 10 ft they look green-ish lol and its driving me nuts.
My issues is that I want to put a yellow film overlay to get a deeper yellow, HID's are supposed to run cooler, But I did not notice a difference, maybe a few degrees cooler than the oem halogen bulbs but the housing still gets super hot to the touch. Seems to be a common issue with 09-10 fog housing due to that metal ring in the housing? So I fear the film will just melt since my fog's are my new DRL's
For you guy's (specially 09-10) running over lays, what has been your experience?
what kind of overlays did you use in the past and how hard was it to remove when they burned?

My overlays haven't melted yet. They've been on for about 2 years or so. One of the Nokya yellow bulbs burned out recently and lasted 2ish years which isn't bad. They are used as my drl lights so they are on constantly. I have a 2011 with the revised fog lights.

I had Ebay vinyl overlays on for about 6 mo's. They didn't burn, but did become fragile, almost flaked off when I decided to peel them off ... but I did run them through snow and ice also. I redid them in the spring, but then had my accident and got everything replaced.
Got LED H11's to run cooler to do overlays again, but the white look got to me.

Last week when you forgot to wake up in time to meet up, I saw his car and noticed MCs covers are shot. Like, "scrape that work out of the pyrex- it's done. That's crack crack cracky crack crack" shot.
Consider though, if you put yellow film over a yellow light output, you'll essentially be filtering the usable light. Counter-intuitively perhaps. Best solution would be to use pure white bulbs with yellow films.

TSX AMG Type //M i-VVT
I have a 10 and I'm guessing it depends how you install it.
One one fog i did a dry install and it was fine, no melting. the other side i did a wet install and that shit melted badly.

I have an 09 TSX and installed the yellow Lamin-X fog light covers. After a few years, I noticed the burn marks near the center. Since it was still covered under warranty, I contacted Lamin-X, showed them pictures, and they sent me a new set.
They explained that the burn marks are a result of the weakest link of the fog covers - the glue. At the time, they still hadn't found an adhesive backing that was any better. So they suggested I only run the fog lights when the car was moving.
TBH, I don't even really have the fog lights on, because there really isn't much of a yellow effect. I was hoping these would give me near IS300 fog lights. But at least they help protect the lights from cracks and pitting.

Thanks for the reply's guys.
Wished they made aftermarket yellow glass/plastic fog housing replacements.
Been playing around with the idea of retrofitting the IS300 fog projectors but they look so small compare to oem 3.5"

Cheap/eBay yellow HID kits often give off a green tint.

Kind of true.
Iv'e seen Ijdmtoy, Morimoto, DDM Tunning and a few ebay kits and they all still have that hue of green during the day. The first two had the less noticeable hue of green.
So with that in mind, I ended up with the Amazon Innovited AC kit for under $40 and I dare say it's the same as morimoto and Ijdmtoy kits.

I'm using a 35w HID kit with 3k fogs and yellow Lamin-X (the brand, not some shitty eBay vinyl) and I've had no issues for the past couple months.

I have iJDMtoys kit and love it. Haven't installed it yet but it's yellow. The best way to make sure it's yellow is the bulb itself, when it's really yellow by just looking at it unlit then it's good. I've done my research on this for a long time but IMO of course LOL

I've used a few hid kits in my other cars and the colors never been a solid yellow unlike the nokya bulbs I've uses and they've lasted some time as well. Was thinking about a set for my tsx but now I might do some white led ones to match my headlights
