aft fluids

hi guys

just want to see what is everyone using, i been thinking of changing my dw1 to castrol fluid http://productsforyou.castrol.com.au...ultivehicle/35
or
http://www.valvoline.com.au/explore-...-synthetic-atf

after doing few changed with dw1 it just doesn't seem that great , i changed from z1 fluid originally.

The general consensus (here anyway) seems to be that the Honda ATF is the way to go. I'd be curious what you mean by "just doesn't seem that great". How do you define that, and/or compared to what? It's specifically designed for Honda transmissions, and though as a rule I'm generally skeptical of the need to use in-house branded fluids, the ATF does seem to work best in performance and protection.

+1, I'd definitely stick with the OEM stuff here (DW-1) - Honda trannys CAN BE very finicky.

Stick with OEM and throw a quart of GM Syncromesh with friction modifier in.

i don't know about the TSX's automatic transmission but on my 5speed manual EK hatch S40 transmission i did switch to castrol fluid. And never had a problem.

I'm confused.

Since it is absolutely impossible for the consumer to tell the difference between fluids (except when you use an improper viscosity), I'm unsure why anyone would want to experiment with unproven fluids.

Honda automatics are special beasts and the fluid composition is critical for their reliable operation. I would only recommend OEM fluid.

It's not an experiment. My dad worked as Honda Tech and Service advisor at a Honda dealer in Manila back in the days and he said they even use the same oils they put in the motor, in the transmission. But that was for manual transmission. And that was way back when EK Civics were the current models.
