On that note, the new STI looks way better in person actually. It's growing on me, and I take back what I said about them looking much uglier than the previous gen. I'd love to have one right now... especially after that mild snow storm we just had last night

Oh, you think the 40k was just the mods? If so that is insane. I thought you meant the 60k-70k was milage, not dollars. I guess if he didn't do the bodywork himself and paid $100/hr for someone to sculpt/fiberglass/paint it could have cost 10k.

Joe did you know what it looked like/specs before today? How much on the inside are you?

I really like it. I like the new grille and the headlights are super sexy. I'm not very opinionated on the engine/transmission and think it's fine.

 

this new ILX is better than the TLX.

Shame on Acura for marketing performance the way they did. All this "hype" just to take the TLX tranny, and have the K24 across all trims is lame. They marketed it in a way that implied a leap forward in NUMBERS that people are used to. Horsepower figure, torque, displacement (which I doubt since the car is relatively small anyhow--so maybe factory turbo instead). Not new tranny! Sure the 8 DCT is a lot faster than the 5AT and technically also 6MT. But they ditched the 6MT, which is what many performance-minded individuals would seek when purchasing a car.

But this is today's Acura, so you can't really expect much. I just think the least they could've done (on top of what they actually did) was keep 6MT as an option, because people who are interested in performance are likely to be interested in a manual transmission. Plus anyone who knows, Honda's 6MTs are fantastic.

 

 

Thank goodness they got rid of the 6MT. That was the only thing holding it back from being a perfect car!
