Got a new license plate but theres no holes on it to mount it on the bracket. Anyone know the best way to drill 2 holes into the plate for the screws?

 

how is that even possible that the plate has no screw holes? well then just get a drill and the correct size drill bit.

i live in the high desert of Denver Colorado.
The coldest day of the year ON AVERAGE is a H of 43/ L of 15.
Usually for a week or two in January early Feb.

last year we had the same polar vortex as everyone else, TWICE.......this is similar.

whats crazy is the highest city in the CO Rockies....Leadville, had a high of about 25 today. thats about 10,000 feet above sea level. We are at a lowly 5500 and its 4 right now.

good things if you are a skier. 8-15 in most of the big ski areas so they will all have a great Thanksgiving early season.

iCrap which BT Adapter did you use exactly? I used this one:


It connected fine to the torque app, but then it says "Cannot talk to ECU ok" then it completely drained my battery and the car wouldn't start for like 10mins. What a useless pos.. I left it plugged in for 5 mins and all it did was drain the battery. Do you leave yours connected in all the time? I just want the live HP/TQ readings.

 

ah yeah i found that Autogeek one earlier, was wondering if that was the same one you got.

uhh ok that's weird. It should be like ECU OK and then start logging immediately. I don't leave it in all the time but I probably could. It DID kill the battery once but only after a week.

mess around with the settings though, there are multiple settings for the OBD adapter in Torque, maybe yours just needs to be set differently.

Aparently robpp has the same adapter and it works fine for him. Either it's defective or I'm doing something wrong.

 

Oh ok then go back into the torque settings and try changing it. There are a bunch of adapter settings.

 

Just 3m tape it onto the plate holder. No need to drill holes

Make sure you use the 20lb 3m stuff though (red). everything else is crap.

 

Can you remove the 3M tape? I plan on switching back to the Texas plates when not at the meets.

 

yeah you can. this seems like more trouble than it's worth though if your gonna remove it... why not just leave it on?

 

Where I live they don't care about front plates. I heard some areas are more strict though so if I go somewhere else Ill switch back. If I use bolts it only takes a few seconds to unscrew and rescrew them, but id rather use the 3m tape if it's removable.

 

oh then a better idea is 3m dual lock both plates and the plate holder so you can just pull it off and swap it easy

and honestly i would just run the jap plate until you get stopped, cause all they are gonna do is warn you most likely. Or they might even think it's a vanity plate.
