It's not like you have to pay shipping on the tune lol so you can get that whenever.

Mine from has BT and it's not from vit btw.
Could also wait for a sale if you aren't in a rush but I haven't seen any deals come up since I got mine.
The BT option is a nice to have feature, but not a deal breaker if it didn't have it. I'm also not in a rush, so my best bet would be to either wait for a deal, or find a used one.

Total cheapskate here

Yeah that's what I did... bought both my FP and progress bar when there were sales lol.
I have never even tried the BT thing yet... i forgot it exists. I think all it does is let you see live guages or something.

They aren't fouled just no way I would want to use them to 100k I try and treat my motor better than that. Its like running a slightly dirty air filter yea you can but why not spend a little to help the car be a little happier. Its the little things In life I do my for TSX.

sorry; that analogy wont work for plugs or slightly dirty air filter.

Im all about maintenance, too! but it seems as if you're changing items out pre-maturely.

if the items you are changing out early have little to no wear, you're just changing it for the sake of changing it.

if the plugs arent fouled and still are in factory gap specs, they're still good!

What Im trying to say is that, if you buy FP from VIT then he cuts you a deal on getting a tune. So if you're gunna pay to get it tuned then it doesn't make sense to buy a used one because you make up the cost difference right there.... ANDD you get a cool BT feature that could have multiple uses in the future.. Think about all the things you can control from your GoPro app these days.

And you get warranty on new items too.

naw I get you, the VitTune itself is just under $200 (N/A). So yes, I understand what you mean by how it's really worth it and it pretty much offsets the "savings" from getting a used unit, let alone the BT feature and warranty.

Problem is, I only have literally 1 bolt on part, that isn't even on the car yet; the PCD. I don't think I'd be able to appreciate the full value of Vit's tune because of this. I have no plans for FI in the near future as the car is < 1 year old, so I think it makes sense for me to stay within bounds of my car's warranty for at least the foreseeable future. So yes, on paper it makes sense. Getting Vit's package is a great deal (and I'm not saying it isn't for many of you guys). But I don't see all the value in tuning at the moment, or even for the foreseeable future.

edit:
Why am I even interested in the FP then? Well it's a simple plug-and-play "bolt on" performance mod that I can even realize with the minimal number of mods that I currently have even using the base maps, it has great resale value, and it's easily reversible. If I don't find the value after trying out the FlashPro, I could sell it back for pretty much what I got it for if I bought it used. This is impossible with Vit's tune.

ok-- but I'll be telling you "I told ya so" when you see what the base tune does. Within a few months you will become power hungry haha

If you do find a good deal be sure to check the source... some guy in FL is going to federal prison for making fake Hondata stuff (It's funny though cause it says he reverse engineered their software, so why not just build your own platform if you understand what hondata did.... makes no sense)

I know... I know. I have a feeling that I'll be kicking myself as well.

And wow.. he's like part genius, part retarded. This is definitely one thing I'm concerned about. There's also the chance that someone will sell me a FlashPro that's not actually unlocked. Life is tough... should probably just suck it up and buy it brand new.

It looks like it might possibly come out. Don't think its totally through the clear. It's not paint transfer though.

Defiantly not things wear out starting from day one if you keep it till its completely worn out and then replace it yes this can work but why not replace something when its starting to wear down. Spark plugs at 50k are no were as good as they were at the beginning things wear and break down. I see this on planes some of the C130's I work on are older than most members on here you know why there still flying they don't just wait till its broken or worn down a little bit. They replace stuff and dont question it or overhaul so many hours. You keep doing your thing I do mine but I plan for my TSX to run along time.

so, by changing the spark plugs, would you feel an increase in power?

however; checking the plugs is great idea!
over in the 3G TL section we're experiencing plug blow out.
#5 cylinder plug likes to eject.

by checking them every 50k miles, one could nip the problem in the bud.

HAHA increase in power sorry sir I am not some newb you can trick. I wouldn't really expect much but maybe a little bit happier running motor. Im just not one for belif in this new way of maitance from honda and acura. They allways say go by your maitance minder well if that was the case I wouldn't be changing my oil but ever 2 years I for one change it once a year regardless of miles. So in acura theory I wont need maitance because mine has never popped up once in the 4 years I have owned my TSX.

^actually; Acura states to change the oil when the MID says so or after one year. which ever comes first.
So, you're doing exactly what you're supposed too!
Good Job!

Yeah that's what I assumed, seems pretty common after googling it. Is it okay to just add regular Peak 50/50 coolant to top off?

as long as the bottle says: SILICATE AND PHOSPHATE FREE!

which the PEAK 50/50 is and is safe to mix/pour into the radiator.

Ordered:
5.5 inch LCC Orange and White pads
5" Backing Plate
Compound & Polish

For the detailers on here.. Do I need an adapter for this backing plate ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003CH...ref=mp_s_a_1_2) and my 7424xp? I remember reading somewhere that some backing plates don't come with the threaded screw thing and an adapter is needed but it looks like this one does.

Also,
A compression washer is required correct? Or can I use the same one that came with the white polishing pad for the 7424?

^yikes!
I ordered my PC7424XP in a kit, where the backing plate came with it!

what polish did you get?
the product is the most important piece!

p.s. if you watch youtube videos you'll learn pretty quickly.
you cant burn through paint, so go out and have fun with it!

p.s.s. I never have fun with it as it takes like 8 hours to do a full detail. lol

The polisher will come with a generic pad attached to a plate. I ripped that pad off the plate and bought a $3 stick on velcro at home depot and stuck it on there. The seperate pads I bought I can now interchange by just slapping them on!

The bp should come with a washer. If not, just reuse the one that came with your PC. I don't think you'll need an adapter either.

btw how do you guys clean your pads? I don't feel like shelling out money on pad cleaning products

Plan on using Meguairs Ultimate compound on orange + Meguairs Ultimate Polish on white to finish. If that's not strong enough I'll use M105/M205 but UC should be enough for light swirls/scratches.

So I have some neglected pads that have been used, and left uncleaned in the garage for maybe over a month. I know, fail by me. I was in a rush to get out of the house and had to stop polishing midway because of an unexpected personal matter I had to immediately deal with at the time. I feel like it might be a bit too late for simply water?

On the note of that story... I was pretty much done everything but the roof of my car at that point. But I had to leave and I didn't even get a chance to put wax on any part of the car I'm gonna wash and look over the paint again sometime this week... I might have to do some "touch up" polish to get it back to perfect, and also do the roof. Then I'll apply a coat of Collinite 845 on top. Sigh I might even have to clay most of the car again.

Polishing takes forever......
