I don't think it was super cheap for a used item. I've read all the pages of the PCD thread, and at least a couple of guys sold the thing because of the rasp (shame) for about $200. I'm pretty sure there were less than a couple hundred miles on those PCDs too; the rasp likely got to them real quick for them to want to sell it and not deal with it.

The nice thing about optimus's PCD is that it's ceramic coated, and for some reason optimus just seems like a down to earth kind of guy. It was nice dealing with him

I did try to snipe it though, no lie. I saw the thread, and I was like WTF, posted 2 days ago and I didn't even notice? I thought iCrap must've picked it up because he mentioned in a post a while back that he wanted the PCD too lol

Thanks optimus!
Enjoy it, bitch

That's awesome! I've always had a passion for cars; from just wanting to mod my own car, to actually understanding/learning about the various parts and how everything works together. I've always had a knack for software/programming/computers though... so mech eng was a close second. Some days I feel some slight regret, but most days I don't. Hopefully some day I could contribute (via my profession) in an automotive setting like Honda. If I didn't have particular commitments/situations in my life right now, I'd come down and work at Honda with you!

hopefully you will enjoy the rasp since you discounted it with the pipe not installed yet/ i had a resonator installed or mine would have been gone right away.

next, i hope you have a simple way to clear the codes it throws. they dont come too often but do show up. lately mine has been throwing a code a month/ i use a OBD bluetoooth dongle and Torque the app. also readup on how to clear them from the nav if you have a tech model/

He can fix that easily once the Hondata 11+ is out.

Yeah I read the entire thread yesterday. As for the rasp, I'll have to see how I feel about it. I've never been in a raspy car before, so I'm not really sure how much this will really affect me. If it's bad, I'll get a vibrant or a magnaflow res. Thought about the magnaflow mufflers, but I think the rasp would still be there, and I don't really want to weld new mufflers onto my stock exhaust in case I wanna go stock and sell the car. If it's not too bad, I'll live with it. Maybe I'll invest in a full catback and pray it'll solve the problems? No money for Mugen/Fujitsubo though

The CEL, yeah I've read about that too. Richie and thundertbt (is that his name?) claim of no CELs on their test cars, but every other person on the thread has run into the issue one time or another. Hopefully tightening the defouler all the way, while having it still pointed up, will do the trick. It seems to have solved the problem for many where the code was caused by not enough reads of the exhaust fumes.

But yeah, if/when Hondata releases FP for the 11+, I'll likely be getting it anyway, and I could just disable the sensor altogether. I suppose I can't leave that setting on for emissions testing (which is a longgggg way from now; 2013 TSX), but worse comes to worst I'll put the cat back on.

the defoulers have to be angled a certain direction in order for them to work properly.
when I first installed Richie's PCD's, always had a CEL. running too lean!

it was only when I broke the PCD's, is when I uninstalled them and re-installed them. somehow, I must have angled the defoulers in a different direction or something, but now, no CEL.

Yeah it's definitely a combination of both the orientation of the defouler, and how tightly turned it is. I hope I get it right the first time, because people reported it to be impossible to adjust the defouler's tightness without taking the entire PCD off, as the angled piece hits some other part of the car when turned (very tight clearance).

I watched the videos in the PCD thread... and it doesn't seem THAT bad to me. But it apparently drives many of those people insane lol. It's a 1k window between 2k-3k rpm, so if you do hear the rasp, you'll hear it often. I'm thinking I'll probably like it. The I4 stock doesn't exactly sound that exciting lol

No it's not that bad, you can only slightly hear it in low RPM range and accelerating more than 50%... and even then it doesn't sound bad if you are the spectator outside of the car.

Never been a fan of GT cars like that.
Would rather have an Aventador. Still pretty cool though.

Any of you guys have experience with Peppermint OS btw? Got a free old computer from work that I was looking to turn into a Linux box/media server and I had my eye on using that.

Sorry this isn't a helpful post... I don't know what to look for leaky struts? Power steering fluid? I have no idea.

But I post mainly because, if it is suspension related..

COILOVERS!

Is there a lot of play in the steering? I'd look a Tie Rods.

Yeah there is a tiny bit of play.. OK i will check those things. This is so weird.. It almost feels like i need another half lock of steering then usual for turning.
