There should be a small flap down there that you can remove by taking off the clips holding it in place. Then just stick your hand in there and change the bulbs. That's how I did my HID fogs.

Hey all,
Current 1G TSX owner here. The wife and I recently had our first kid and though the baby seat fits in this car, I'm looking for something a little bigger. I'm looking at several cars but am curious what current owners think of the TSX Sportwagon.

Mostly I'm wondering what kind of gas mileage you're seeing. I have a fairly significant commute (50 miles) each way and want at least decent mileage. Is 30-32 mpg reasonable to expect?
The other car high on the list is the VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI. However, I'm afraid I'd miss the luxury or the Acura.

On stock wheels - I took a trip to NY & averaged 33 MPG. Our cars are excellent on the highway as far as gas mileage + comfort.

Yes highway. ~45 miles of the 50 mile commute is highway.

Not much into modding a car so will probably stick with stock wheels.
33 is pretty damn good.

Thanks

i had an 08 TSX, then a 2010 TSX, and now traded in the 10 for a 13. i much prefer the second gen over the 1st gen, the only thing i miss is the overdrive for sport being on the shifter, i dont like paddles. i took a roadtrip to tennessee in my 2010 base TSX and i got nearly 38 miles to the gallon straight highway with a loaded car

The 2G TSX and Sportwagon have the same sized rear seats, which is not very big. There's a thread here with a kid seat discussion:

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tsx-2009-2014-143/tsx-baby-seat-806905/

I tested the TSX wagon and Jetta TDI Sportwagen side by side and the Jetta has much larger and flatter back seat, so it's better for most kid seats. The Jetta also has more usable cargo space in the trunk. I didn't really need all that since we typically use my wife's car on family trips, so I picked the TSX wagon because of the sportier suspension/chassis feel and more modern cockpit. The Jetta interior was nice, but felt sort of utilitarian. The turbo diesel + DSG was awesome though, that is something that I wish I could have. As far as MPG goes, I've gotten between 31-34 mpg on long road trips, and as low as 21 mpg in 100% bumper to bumper DC traffic. Everything boils down to what you prioritize and your driving conditions. Both are nice wagons IMO, although still pretty far from "Sport" as their names would suggest.

Wow, thanks for the side-by-side comparison. My wife wants me to lean more towards mileage than luxury/sportiness so odds are I will go with the JSW TDI.
A little wrinkle was thrown in today when I saw this:
2015 (2014 ) VW Golf Variant aka Jetta Sportwagen

VW Jetta Sportwagen Link

Yup, I saw that too. If they offer a 2.0T + DSG, I will be very tempted. The 2013 BMW 328i wagon looks awesome too, but I will have to save up several more years for that.

Well guys, it's been real. The tsx is pretty dated now, so I traded it in for a 2013 Accord. Just kidding my co worker bought one today!.

I've only ridden 50 feet in the parking lot in it so far. I am probably going to go over this weekend and help her out with things, maybe even take it for a test drive!

Oh, and white text, guys.

4 cylinder. She is a zero frills kind of person. Got it as basic as she could. No accessories, no leather, etc.

Overall the new Accord is fucking awesome. But, with me being all OCD and shit, some things did bother me with the one I rode in. First thing I noticed when sitting in the backseat was the fit and finish of the front seats. The stitching looked as if it were ripping apart at places. Like the two fabrics are pulling away from each other kinda ripping. The car is only a few weeks old too with only 600 miles on it. Secondly the touch screen was dumb. I'm guessing it's similar to the one in the RLX which I didnt really like. It made navigating through stuff a pain. If I hadn't got the TSX yet, I'd prolly get the Accord lmao
/end rant

Don't like that new accord shit. You guys heard about Obama's new energy plan? He's trying to find a cleaner energy source for our automobiles! Maybe that Mazda Rx-8 Hydrogen car will go into production.

I am personally holding out for a FluX-Capacitor powered RX8

BTW, Symon, how was the SXSW festival? I have a HOT friend who's working the event this week.

Nice. Spring is when all the new mod excitement starts to build. I also noticed that members here are extremely fond of sneak peeks and teasers, just a general observation, lol.
