PMP let's it run for a set amount of time when the car is turned off if I remember corrrectly

 

pmp lets you hook it up the car battery and it'll run forever until it sense your battery is below a certain threshold then it'll shut off. it basically allows you to have it on while you're parked in case you're worried that someone sits on your car, vandalizes it, hits it while its parked etc.

and this one is the new one thats supposed to take care of any overheating issues the previous generation had.
