2G TSX Chat, Chit, and General Info Thread
the syncromesh is special because it does have friction modifiers in it.
something the honda fluid is lacking.
I'm not an expert on fluids, but ALL(im generalizing because i am not an expert) wear, especially if you throw heat into the mix.

You're right about the heat, but comparatively to an auto there is WAY less work done on the fluid. Just look at other manufacturers which their transmission fluid lasts nearly the lifetime of the car. Don't make no damn sense. I hear good things about the syncromesh so we will see how long this one lasts.
hahahhahahahahhahahahah

8th gen civic meet.
mostly SI's.
cawky sons of guns.
"my SI is faster than your TL"
"are you sure about that?"
"lets go"
40mph roll.
I'm in the correct power band and I punch it. hit 70mph and backed off to let him catch back up.
as I'm decelerating, I see red and blue flashing lights.
"im going to jail." I say to my buddy in the passenger seat.
I pull over, and literally it was a scene from Super Troopers.
"pull the car over."
"ummm, Im already pulled over"
I then proceed to go into a safer location to stop.
"roll your windows down"
my hands are sticking out the window, as Im yelling "THEY ARE DOWN!!!"
LEO proceeds to rip my ass a new one.
"blah blah blah JAIL"
he let me off with a verbal warning only.

For any of you with M/T I was having the classic 3rd gear "catch" problem (You would think it's in, let out the clutch, grind then realize is wasn't all the way in and then use more force to get it in place). Would happen about 2/10 times while shifting from 2nd to 3rd, enough to notice every time you drove the car. Took it to the stealership and got the upgraded synchromesh fluid and it seems to be transitioning between gears flawlessly now. It's been about 3 days now and no problems.
Thought I would share. YAY to not ripping out my transmission!!

At this point I already figured that would be the fix, but since I'm still under warranty I let them assess it so that if it didn't fix it then it would be on "their ticket"
Seemed to have worked, so basically I overpaid for a simple fluid change.
ILX in manual?
and yesss, he was the first CU2 to win tsx of the month. very proud of him. our own shady_cu2 and defcon tried running but was beat by the 1st gen guys. i want to try and run once i finish my car haha
im at the CVS in teaneck and im also in Ridgefield Park, but not at CVS
lol x2.
like he assumed we would be here
P.S. for the guy with the ILX.
if Joe said that Honda has come out with a fluid that has "friction modifiers" I would use that.
the GM stuff has been superseded by an A/C Delco part number.
the old honda fluid is lacking some special ingredient. most likely what ever the "friction modified" is.

I knew there existed the GM syncromesh but the service guy came out and said,"We don't really know what the problem is, but let's try and replace your old fluid with Acura's improved syncromesh fluid"

Could be slave cylinder? That was another consideration when I took mine in. Even if there is no visible leak they can still be bad. But your car is new so iunno
Central time zone here, yeeeah bout 11. I'm fucking tired, I've been in photography class taking pics of people in front of this blasted green screen for hours. And developing film from these damn film cameras too. i'm pretty exhausted and smell like film developer...
