RDX choices are even worse. No blue available at all. I went with black because I didn't like any of the other choices. Acura really needs a dark blue IMO.

make that 2-I want red again. But I also want manual transmission. Recently bought a venetian red 6MT sonata. Was planning to replace my 06 tsx with a 11 tsx but the color choice is not thrilling me

I think this is very dependent on where you live, though, as the blue TSXs are quite popular here.

I bet within the next 10 to 15 years, you will pick any color you want on a factory order (for a small fee). It's got to be comin. I know some of the REALLY expensive manufactures do it, It will come to the masses.

Popular being a relative term. I'm 100% sure that they may be more popular in certain areas, but they're not more popular than silvers, greys, blacks and whites.

Interesting theory. I'm wondering if there won't be reduced choices in the future if volumes remain at current levels. Some analysts fear that future for cars is dim as there may be a generation coming up that is not as 'enthralled' with cars as we are. The greatest fear for the auto industry (long term) is that people will stop caring about cars. If this were to happen, would people care that much about colors?

Eh... the general population isn't gonna wait 3 months for their car to be made in their specific color. We aren't a patient culture. Else, you wouldn't have folks plucking down extra $$$ when a new car comes out to be the first on the street to own it only to have the value drop in less than 3 months. Mitsu Evo was a huge example of this with folks paying upwards of $5K on top of MSRP in SoCal just to be the first to get it.

I do not know about your area but in my travels I see numerous red vehicles.

There is no joy in rush hour, which is where/when most of us do our driving. In order to enjoy driving cars, you have to get away from your metro area. During the summer, I commute to work (weather permitting) by biking 5.5 miles to a light rail stop, then riding the train to work. On the way home, I take the long way, biking 15 miles along some wonderful lakes and creeks that have separate paths for bikes and pedestrians. This is a great workout as well as a great stress release, unlike driving in rush hour which adds stress.

On the other hand, I am very much looking forward to a four-day road trip to the North Shore of Lake Superior next week for some serious leaf-peeping. As long as Honda keeps building cars that are reliable, fun to drive, and full of advanced technology, I will keep buying them.

That sounds lovely! I actually have relatives who live at the lake.

It took me 1 hour to get to work this morning thanks to the flooding in the area the night before and some roads being closed, etc, which of course caused even more backups...my work is 8 miles "as the crow flies" from my place, 1...freakin'...hour. Talk about being stressed out by the time you get to work!

I hope they keep it the way it is with minor changes like from the 2009 to the 2010 TSX! That way I don't feel crappy for buying it every time I see a 2011 TSX

Hi all, new poster here. Just wondering when the 2011s are coming in. I wouldn't care so much about the updates, but there aren't any manuals lefts in my area that are 2010. I'm looking at a 2011 6 speed plus tech. Been waiting for over a month for them to come in....

I was at the Orange County Auto Show yesterday and they have a 11 Wagon "prototype" on display which was the same as the wagon shown in NYC. It was a silver/silver grey with a hint of blue, I think it will be the new Forged Silver Metallic.

They also have the 11 Full Line brochure with photos/info of the sedan and wagon. The new grill, bumper and rims are just like what was shown on the wagon at the NYC show.

The features are the same, or have already been listed. In addition to the sedan's features, the wagon adds climate-controlled front center console, roof rails, retractable cargo area cover and power operated tailgate with the Tech package.

Ok, so When is the MMC?

So I'm confused.... for the 1G TSX the MMC came in 2006

2004 - Intro
2005 - 2nd yr
2006 - MMC, engine mods, new wheels, new Navi, memory seats etc
2007 - not much
2008 - not much

2009 - Intro of 2G
2010 - current yr
2011 - New navi, new grill/tail lights, a few colors
2012 - ?
1013 - Last year of 2G?

So if the 2011 is not the MMC, then what will be? If it is the 2012 model that will only be one year to the end of the 2G. So the question is... Is the 2011 the MMC for the 2G TSX? If not what will be?

I bought the 2006 which worked out all the bugs from the 2004/5. With some bugs in the 2009/10 I'm wondering if the 2011 is the TSX to get.

The 2011 is the MMC for the TSX. Since this is a model year earlier than normal, I wonder if the FMC will be in 2 or 3 years.

I'm hoping the next generation is 2 model years away, but with Honda/Acura these days that can change 10 times between now and then.

Just spoke to the sales manager at my Acura dealership. At the Acura dealer show, he found out that there WILL be a sub TSX model based on the new Civic with a release of summer 2012. He also said a TSX coupe is on the "drawing board" but nothing to share with the dealers at this time. Finally, he said the TSX will be the LAST Acura model released with production slated to start in November with deliveries to the states in December. New colors include: Forged silver (dark silver) and Graphite luster (darker silver without the earth tones found in Grigio). Sad to say there is no Milano red on the color palette. . .

I knew that there would be no red tsx but was hoping. Are those two new colors being offered with the manual transmission. The sales manager at my acura dealership told me he would let me know about the '11 tsx as soon as he got the official news. I am planning to replace my 06 tsx next June with the '11 tsx but the color choice with the MT so far is terrible.

The colors for the 6mt are black, white, and the two shades of silver that were mentioned. All 6mt cars come with the black interior.

Acura Connected

Aside from the TSX and ZDX, Acura has so far released the details for all of its 2011 models with no major changes.

There have been some rumors of minor changes to the 2011 TSX, but today Acura’s Twitter account Acura_Insider has stated it will be a mid-cycle refresh.

Yes, ’11 TSX sedan will hv a mid-cycle refresh 2 inc. changes to exterior styling, powertrain & tech upgrades. On-sale=late fall.

The fully redesigned second generation TSX was just released in 2009 and has had fairly consistant sales, up 7.7% so far over last year.

^^No more Polished Metal, Palladium Metallic, and Grigio Metallic. Wow, we're down to 29 SKUs for TSX. They probably trimmed 20 combinations!

No one is aware of any powertrain upgrades for the '11 model. If this is accurate information I'd like more details.

So the 2011 color combos are....

Continued colors:
- Premium White Pearl w/Black or Parchment interior
- Crystal Black Pearl w/Black or Parchment
- Vortex Blue Pearl w/Black

New colors:
- Forged Silver Metallic (the light silver color) w/TBD interior
- Graphic Luster Metallic (the dark silver color) w/TBD interior

Five total colors down from seven. I guess this reduced costs. I've not seen these new colors on other 11 models annouced to date. Honestly I didn't see the need for both Polished Metal and Grigio. They were very similar colors. I kind of liked the Red but maybe it wasn't a good seller. Not crazy about the blue. I would have picked Red over Blue to continue to 2011.

Acura Canada sells the CSX which is based on the civic but with a 2.0 liter engine. There is also the Type-S which is the Civic Si. Except for the larger engine I'm not sure who would be buying this in the states. My wife has a civic coupe and it is a great little car, but most civic shoppers are on a budget. The 2012 civic is a FMC and at least one rumor is it will have a 2.0 liter engine. Just a rumor.

Ooops mis-counted. There are close to 60 SKUs because they're all available with Tech packages.

Colin, thank you very much!! No big surprises as I guessed Parchment was gone and they would combine Polished Metal and Grigio into one since they are so similar. I am bummed that the red and blue sedan can't be had with the taupe, but they probably wouldn't sell well in those combos anyway.

I am guessing they tweaked the engine/gearing for more MPG as they did they same for the US Accord.

Yes, they probably are slow sellers. For those that are warming up to tell us how popular they are in your neck of the woods, remember that Acura knows what they build, what they deliver, and when dealers sell the cars. They have far more data on relative sales of color/trim combinations than any of our perspectives.

New Painting Scheme

Maybe they should just have black and white and just turn off one valve and turn on the other slowly so you'd paint the first care white, the second car off white, the third car grey, the fourth car dark grey and fifth car black the sixth car dark grey the seventh car grey, the eighth car off white and the ninth car white.....then start over!

Similar, but pretty easy to tell apart and Grigio is definitely the nicer between the two IMO. I was going to get Polished Metal (I was dead set on NOT owning another dark car after owning a black one for years) but when I saw the Grigio next to the PMM, I was sold on the Grigio.

I really love my color and am very happy w/ my choice, but I had a white loaner and really liked how it looked and when I pass a white TSX, I definitely admire how our car looks in white. If I were doing it over, I'd definitely be considering white a little more than I did the last time around.

Seriously? No delivery dates yet for the 2011 TSX's? WTF Acura - you're going to release a model year numerically aligned with the year? Craziness.

When I bought my 06 tsx in Nov. the 07 model arrived at the dealers in Dec. 06. The 08 model arrived early in 07 to make way for the 09's.

I don't think that the Wagons are going to arrive at the same time as the '11 sedans. A recent notice stated that they're going to be available in very limited quantities, and allocation will follow production.
