2011 TSX ** Details/Pics (page 8)**

I still get gitty with joy when i wind up driving alongside someone else with the same car.
I wonder if Acura thought it was too aggressive of a look for an "accord". Whatever. At any rate. They should have left a great thing alone.

The TSX seems to be a rare vehicle on the streets. I like the TSX design due to it not being a bubble mobile, it seems too many cars are over designed and look rounded out and a bit castrated. TSX has a more old school look in a way.
Hopefully they will never turn it into this look. MB really went downhill when the Ford Taurus inspired look came about with its C class.

That is so true. I was driving on I-95 sunday and all I saw was MB and BMW and they all the the same...boring. In that 2 hour drive I saw one TSX and of course I had to steer at the back and admire it until it drove off..hehe. TSX are indeed a rare car on the road.

I like the new 011 TSX grill better; it seems like they used less chrome on the grill. The big plus to the 011, I would say its the new navigation, and everything else seems to be minor shit that doesn't really matter. I also find the new fog lights to be a little eh looking. The front end where the fog lights are, the way they designed it makes it look like someone is pulling the front end back. Grill +1 and front end, I prefer the 09-10.

It is an offical. Acura start selling 2011 TSX now. Website has been updated to 2011 model already. I really like the rear vent and HDD Navi for 2011 model. It only cost $400 more to get those. It is worth it.

I wonder if they'll make any further updates to the site. I think there are less colors (Palladium gone?), and I don't see the Aero kit listed under Accessories anymore. I was looking at the online brochure and instead of PWP, they have White Diamond Pearl.
Don't know why I care, not like my lease is expiring or anything.

wonder if the TL 10-spoke 19" rims fit on the 2011 TSX.

Man, I think Acura really messed it up. That new Silver paint is the boring and cheap looking "normal" silver you see on every other silver car today. Like that plain silver on the Accord and the Camry. I thought it might be something similar to Palladium, but not even close. And that new grey is not the bad ass metallic dark grey some people have been anticipating, it's just plain looking.
If I had a grigio or palladium 09-10, I wouldn't even think about trading, not even for the new Navi. Not worth the $5000 loss in trade.

Did anyone else happen to notice that they changed some of the lighting on the interior? Go to acura.com, check out the interior pics and look closely at the lighting around the big Navi knob, the climate control display, etc...no longer white-ish and now blue like the rest of the lighting...
And one small improvement I hope they make is so that the Info display inside of the speedometer doesn't reset every time you turn the car off. I like to have the MPG meter on always, and it's annoying to have to select this every time I start the car. My '09 TL loaner didn't do this and it would always start at whatever the last setting was, and I am hoping the new TSX does the same.

Hmm another point of interest and something I was wondering about: when you click on rear view camera in the Features breakdown, it now says this:
--Guidelines in the image help you gauge distances and predict vehicle position.--
http://www.acura.com/Features.aspx?m...modelYear=2011
It would make total sense for them to add this to the TSX this time around, as the others in the lineup have it...

Acura came out with a new test for me on the TSX today, I passed. What I will say is don't get too excited about the interior trim changes to the parking brake and door handles. They are nice but nothing extraordinary.
The 2 things that I'm most excited about (having not seen the vehicle) are the power lift gate on the tech wagon and the air conditioned drink holders (which I can't remember at the moment if they are a wagon exclusive). The drink holders are just smart thinking. Other manufacturers have been doing cooled glove boxes for years but while that's neat, it's kinda useless. What's in your glove box that needs to bee kept cool? Not sure if it will also warm your coffee if you have the heat is on, they didn't mention it but if it's part of the HVAC system, I don't see why it wouldn't.
If you are on the fence about a 2010 tech sedan at a discount or waiting on a 2011, I'd be basing my decision on how important it is to have a HDD nav, a 15 gig music storage (supposedly for store bought CD's only) and the ability to search your ipod and HDD music by voice (which is easier than using an ipod itself). To me I'd wait and pay more. For base models I'd be basing my decision purely on the styling changes because the incentives are minuscule.
I'll have more to say 12-6-10 after I actually get to touch and play with 2011 TSX (wagon).

While the changes are subtle, I vote for the 09-10 TSX. The new grill and front end treatment of the 11 TSX are too subdued - the car looks like a rental car (maybe I'm overstating it), but the 09-10 TSX wasn't exactly the most distinctive car in the world, and Acura has made it more bland with this version.
The pink tail lights are a negative, and the contrasting white stitching on the ebony leather, chrome/metallic interior door handles, and modified rims are too minor to notice or discuss.
Now navigation is new to me, and the 09-10 system seems perfectly adequate, but I haven't seen the high-def 11 TSX version to compare. Having a hard drive for music storage seems like a minor advantage given that you can plug in your iPod or thumbdrive into the AUX port with the 09-10 TSX.

I think HDD Navi and rear vents would be nice. That being said, I don't really use the Navi to get me places using turn by turn directions. I just use it to see the streets that are coming up, etc. Also, I don't often have passengers in the rear, so no vents isnt a deal breaker for me. I'm glad I purchased end of year and saved some $$$ to enjoy the Acura now.
#424
True, there are plenty of 1st gens out there, but drive around the Dunwoody/Perimeter Mall area and you will practically see a 2nd gen on every corner.
#425
Agree with others that the changes are too minor to even remotely consider swapping out my '09. There's a difference between practicality and wanting to have "all the bells and whistles". I think the general TSX mindful consumer that owns an '09 or '10 will be happy with what they have.
And the pink taillights on the '11? BARF! Reminds me of the older Lexus RX300 SUV taillights...

I'm upgrading to the TL instead of the 11 TSX, if I ever decide to upgrade. Or, i might "upgrade" to the 10 or 09 Palladium 6-speed from my V6 auto. I'm still kicking myself for not getting a palladium and going for the white instead...I thought Acura might have some good colors for 11, but it's all yucky upgrades...sissy front bumper, bland silver, sissy pink tail lights, what were they thinking!
#429
If I had to upgrade, I would still go for the '11 TSX. The mpg and price make it more attractive to me than the rest of the Acura fleet and other comparable cars for that matter. Can't beat the value for the $$ with the TSX imo.

Love this pic of the interior with tech. So cool and futuristic looking!

I've seen the new hi-res nav on the MDX and man it is sharp looking. The nav on my TSX is kinda pixelated when u look at the lines representing the streets and the names of the steets. The hi-res nav doesn't have that problem. All the streets and symbols and lettering are sharp and crisp looking.

Look closer. The '11 turn signal portion of the taillights are not matched clear to the reverse light section of the taillight. Unlike the '09 & '10, they are slightly tinted pinkish/red

Here's some random stuff I'm typing as I watch the videos. Sorry if there is no order to them. The Tech wagon has a power lift gate. Acoustic windshield and thicker glass on the rear doors for noise insulation. Black carpet for all models. Mast antennae on the roof. Sport wagon is 3.5 inches longer than sedan. Fuel filler door can be closed even when car is locked. New feature called G shift control that uses lateral sensors in corners to hold gears. Dark quartz finish on steering wheel, steering wheel and parking brake. Door handles are silver finished. Contrast stitching. Base TSX has wood grain trim on center console and doors. Tech package has metal accents. All base TSX's have 360 watt stereo. Tech package sedan has 415 watt. Tech wagon has 460, due to sub having more power. And of course the new VGA monitor and hard drive based stereo and nav systems. Tech package rear camera has guidance lines.

Like I said before, the only feature I think that's a plus is the new navigation. Other than that, the rest of the features that were added seems minor. People can do with or without back vents.
#436
I agree with you on the music storage, but I like to say its more of an useless feature more than a "minor advantage". Most cars these days off the storage, which I find useless, because the car also comes with AUX and USB connection. Why do I need a storage and two different methods of connection for music? I mean, I think everyone nowadays have an iPod, iTouch, or a phone that can store music, which is always with the person. So if you have all this tech that holds music on you, why do you need to rip music to the car? Making it useless, nonetheless.

If I'm fully honest, the people that complain about the vents are retards. The vents are minor, since when do people drive 2+ people that often... Also out of all the times you do drive 2+ people how often do you use the A/C or heater... Ehh...
#438
I don't know, I have over 600 CDs that I have ripped to MP3s, but I cannot store all of it on any one iPod/iPhone. I could easily see a situation where I might 'off load' some of the CD based music onto the HD so I don't have to carry them on the iPod/iPhone. Use the iPod/iPhone to play podcasts and other media that changes daily.

I think it's all about having the option to choose. There's an old Chinese saying: "Maintain an army for 1000 days, use it on a single morning." So, in the case of the rear vents, what if it's that one hot day that you have 3 passengers in the car? At that moment you would really feel like you got your money's worth. Same thing with my GPS. I don't use it DD but there was a situation last week when I was stuck in traffic. Pulled up the map, saw that I could use a different road, and BAM I was past the traffic. I was glad I maintained that army.
