Hey guys, Ive recently been having issues with my reverse camera. 2 of the last 5 trips the camera doesnt come on when i put the car in reverse. When i do turn the car off and back on the camera is back to working. Any ideas?

 

this has happened to me before multiple times, sometimes the camera wont even work when you put into reverse until you restart the car,

 

did you get it fixed? or did it just go away?

 

Do you start the car and put it in reverse right away? I noticed on mine the camera doesn't come on if I put it in reverse right after starting the car. I usually wait about 30 seconds to 1 min before I put it in reverse, works every time now.

 

has happened to me before on my 2009...never had that issue with my 2012

 

happened on my 2011 ...3 or 4 times
but not on my 2013

but mine didn't go blank, it looked like this

I don't put it in reverse right away, the two time i did it was after a 45 min drive and after a 10 min drive. But it hasn't happen again. Idk what it could be.

 

How long did it do that for?

 

Was it a constant issue on your 09?

 

This has now happened to me only 3 times with my 2010 tsx, where it won't switch over to the camera at all until the car is restarted, then it works fine, until the next random time that it doesn't. When it won't show the camera screen, it will switch between the map and audio, just won't switch to the camera when in reverse. None of these times did I put it in reverse right away, it was after I waited for the nav screen to load and pressed ok to get rid of the warning screen and adjusted all of my settings, so the car had probably been on for a couple of minutes. When it happened the first time, I asked the dealer if they knew of any issues, but had not heard of this problem before and told me to keep an eye on it and bring it in while it is happening so they can see it. Well, it never happens at a time when I can just go to the dealer, but it happened a couple times this spring, so I am going to ask again if there is anything about the way it switches to the camera screen that can be checked out.

 

My '09's does not come on every once in a while as well...doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it and thankfully, it does not happen often.

 

My 09 does the same thing, sporadically, just like you mentioned. Haven't found a solution.

 

I've had it happen a time or two on my '10 TSX but it's happened so infrequently that I consider it a non-issue. Seriously, I think it's happened twice in 16 months.

 

It has only happen twice but that's enough to annoy me. I'm wondering if an update is needed? I just got the car less than a month ago and from what I can tell its been a while since the GPS has been updated. Idk if there is any direct relation there

 

Are there black helicopters flying over your house?

 

Same here '10 and just randomly, of course parking in south philly yesterday was when it decided to do it.

 

 

wasn't a constant issue. in the 9 months i had my 2009 it must've happened maybe 2 or 3 times.

 

I bought my '09 in May of 2008. In the past 5 years and 84k miles, the camera issue has probably popped up a total of 5 times. It has happened one of those times since updating the Navi to the latest version (4.B1), so the Navi software not being updated can pretty much be ruled out.

 

If my camera ever flunks out, I'll just post a pic of her on the NAVI screen and floor it into reverse.

It hasn't happened again but now I have the low tire pressure light on for the back right tire, funny thing it's good on air every time I check it

This happened to me a couple days ago in my 2010. I came here to search to see if it was happening to anybody else. Glad to know that I am not the only one.
I was letting my car idle for a while after putting into park, then upon putting it in reverse, the screen stays at the map display. The only way to get it to come back is to restart the car. Electronics are freakin weird...
