'13 Spec. Edition with Weather Tech liners?

Greetings to the TSX side. I've been on the RDX side, but, I will be picking up a '13 Spec. Edition this week. So, I'm sure I will be spending some time on here also.

Question: Since the Spec. Ed. has the aluminum pedal covers, does anyone know if the Weather Tech. Liners will fit without issues?? The left front corner of the driver's side covers over part of the foot rest. Will it cover properly with the aluminum covers??

Thanks for the info. if anyone has the answer.

Silver Moon...by the way!

the weathertech covers about half of the dead pedal/

no interference as the aluminum dead pedal is very similar to the black plastic one on the base.

Sorry, but, you are very wrong. You need to get out more!! LOL!! Just kidding, OK?
YES....it is a Special Edition. They made them in 09...I know in '12.
Since the window sticker says Special Edition....and the plaque on the back right corner says "Special Edition".....I think it's a Special Edition.

They are one of the models available. They are $1,000 more than the base model. You can get a 6-speed stick, or the 5 speed auto with paddle shifters. The interior is unique to this version only. Black with suede seat inserts, red stitching, special gauges with red accents, ambient lighting, and the wheels are slightly different with some grey paint color added to the spokes.

And..YES...it's a '13. They still have '12's exactly like it left over also. They didn't change. I wouldn't buy a '12 even with a little more discount....since the minute you drive it off the lot it is one year old and the depreciation is not worth buying a '12.

Also, they offer only 4 colors in the Special Edition package. White, Silver Moon, Black, and Red Basque.

Since I'm a long time...uh...read that "old dude"....car guy, and have owned way too many cars, trucks, and SUV's.....along with many high performance cars, etc....I certainly would not make such a mistake as not knowing my latest car....7th in 6 years....is a '13 model and exactly what model or option package it has.

Just go to Acura.com...TSX's...."build your car"....and the list of models appears. 2 boxes to check for the 2 possible Special Editions...stick or auto.

Again, they had this in '12 and previous years. Don't know all the exacts on when or if they are all basically the same option.
I do know that the '12 and '13 are virtually identical. Acutally my dealer had them parked side by side. The price went up on all TSX's by $500.

And thank you. Glad to have this one. My daughter has been driving TSX's....that's when I first realized how nice they were and fun to drive.

OK...I'll clarify the color choices by exact names, since I was off a little on them. Also, in '09 I know that "Weather" from the RDX side....also has a TL and had an '09 TSX.....his TSX had the same body kit as the Special Edition...not positive if his was a S.E. But, this I do know for a fact. The '13 S.E. is the same as the '12 S.E. models.

The 4 color choices are: Bellanova White Pearl, Silver Moon Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, and Milano Red.

Also, if you want a 6-speed manual in your TSX, you can only get it with the Special Edition option.

I wanted to be accurate with my info....didn't want you tough guys and gals on here to eat me alive!! Just having fun.....enjoy our Acuras!!!

lol im pretty aware of what a special edition is.
i have one.

i said i could be wrong but i thought it was only made for 2012.
i didnt know they moved the model on to 2013.

i was hoping theyd revise the 2013 TSX based on the new accord but i guess thatll be another year or so..

Yeah, the seats. Wow, I sat in it and really liked the side bolsters, how they hug you. Now, for those folks who have eaten a little too much pasta, it may be a tough fit!! LOL!!

Question: I didn't sit in a base model. Are the S.E. seats a more snug fit?? They look similar in build. But, I sure like how they felt.
Cars are interesting. You can get a lot of enjoyment from a small 4 door "fun car" like the TSX in a similar, but, fun way as a Mustang GT. I had many of them. Still like them. But, there is something special about an Acura...the fit, the feel, the quality, the hi tech 201 hp engine, etc. I've had many Hondas....Accord Coupes, CRV's, Preludes.....but, getting into an Acura is just....well....better! As it should be, since the window sticker reflects more $$$. That said...I do have a Roush Mustang on my "bucket list."

My '13 RDX is special in it's own way. My wife loves it. Happy wife...happy home!

I know there are folks out there/here that have owned Volvos, Audis, BMW's, etc, and swear they are better than Acuras. And in some ways they may be.

I make a list of the pluses and minuses. No car is perfect. If the plus column is much longer than the minus column......buy it. It's probably a good vehicle. I also look at the value you get vs what the vehicle costs. Many swear by the BMW X3...or Lexus RX330...or what are they called now??........to me, they are over priced and the RDX is not much of a lessor SUV....if at all.

Should the RDX have rear air/heat, a height adjustment on the passenger seat, better canyon carving suspension, the old Sh-awd system, etc, etc. Maybe...some want all that. Up goes the price and then you can buy the other brands.
Choices...so many choices. More and more as the tech wars go on between manufacturers.

Can't wait to get this TSX home and on the road. I'm sure no one really cares....but, this is it for quite a while. I have my 2 Acuras and they will remain with me for at least 3 years. That's about the max for me....but, lately I've been on a tear...buying too many vehicles. Time to enjoy the Acura garage for a few "short" years.

Take care. I'm sure you guys/gals will teach me some things about the TSX I should or should not know. Maybe I can help with my overall vehicle knowledge from time to time. Ex tech school instructor, ex jumbo jet systems trainer, ex managemet trainer....ex everything!! Hell, I'm just an ex I guess! That's what my ex said/says.

Happy wife, happy life! LOL

The SE was only available in 2012, so the 2009 that you saw must have had the replica lip kit.

Also, there are base & tech models that are 6-Speed, so I don't believe it is only available in the S.E. Unless your refering to the new models of '13, then idk.

Anywho, enjoy your new TSX!!! I've just hit 50k on my '09, she's getting old.

i think hes referring to the Aspec. i think there was a 09 Aspec in the USDM

i want that bumper to fit the 12 soooo bad. argh!

oh and from 12+, i dont think you can get a manual unless you get the SE.
i recall reading about that here.

Thank you! I know I will enjoy the S.E. TSX. It's different enough, that I will have something that is not normally seen on the road. There are a lot of TSX's...I just like having mine that's somewhat different than the norm. I'll be putting my ASA polished lip 18's on it with Continental DWS's. Same size as the optional tire size for the TSX's. Had them on my '12 Accord Cpe. for awhile. It will really make the S.E. stand out more.

Yeah, it took me to "get that" with my 2nd wife!! LOL!!
Yes, I was referring to the '13 TSX's. The only 6-speed manual is in the Spec. Edition model. Sorry, but that's reality for those that like to row their cars down the street. Acutally I thought hard about it, but, since my wife will drive it once in awhile I went with the auto....at least it has paddle shifters!! There's that wifey issue again....Hmmmmm??

Weather....who is on the RDX site mostly, had the TSX with body kit. I do think he had the Acura optional kit put on. They are still listed for the '13's as "accessories" for the other TSX models. At least they look better than the similar kits for the 08-12 Accord Coupes from Honda. The rear fascia looked good, but, the front was uglyyyyy!! So, on my '12 I had I just put the rear on. Everyone seemed to like it that way.

.

if youre referring to the 18in the V6s come with, the size is 235/45/18 but if you put your specs in a tire calculator, that makes the speedo off by like 6 mph.

i went 245/40/18 making my speedo almost the same. i believe its a .05% change.

i kinda wish id gone 45s to close the gap up a bit more but i didnt want the speedo affected too much.

i LOVE my SE. def gets attention from TSX owners.

what color you getting?

i Love my CBP but its def a bitch to keep clean.
i wish i could have gotten a white but they didnt have one in stock.

Getting Silver Moon. Drove it yesterday....and loved it!! Pick it up on the 20th. Long story!! It's put away, locked up, keys put away and SOLD sign on it. Great GM at my Acura dealer.

I'm going to check what the optional tire size in 18's is for the 4 cyl. TSX. I think it may be 225/45/18. I thought they were 235's like what is std. on the V6 model. If that's the case then I won't bother. The std. wheels aren't that bad. Now I've got a great set of ASA polished lip wheels and almost new Conti DWS's I can't use!

Might be able to sell them through my guys that work at my Honda dealer. Then I could maybe "play" with putting Conti DWS's on. They do great in the wet and snow...as well as being a high performance dry tire.

Are you in the Springs? I saw a silver SE a couple days ago with tinted windows.

Let's see a photo of those wheels!

I tried to talk my wife into getting the DWS tires for her car. Seems like a good tire for Colorado.

FWIW, you can buy the Weathertechs through Cabelas right now and get free shipping with code 2THANKS.

yea. the TSX SE wheels grew on me. i hated them at first but they look MUCH better than the regular TSX wheels for sure. the V6 wheels are pretty nice too but i really wanted something concave so i went with the battles.

Yeah, I'm in the Springs. My car is not on the streets yet. Pick up on the 20th.
I see the std. tire size is 225/50/17. That should make the Plus 1 sizie; 235/45/18. Or it's 225/45/18....duhhh! I will double check that. Hmmm maybe I can use my wheels and tires. I have Accord tpms sensors in them. Not the same as the Acura's. The Acura's read out actual tire pressure for each tire. The Accord system just let's you know if any tire is low. The cost difference is quite a bit. With Bernardi's discount they would be over $300! Wow.

I've got pics but haven't posted pics here before. Newby on posting pics. When I figure that out I will do that.

I may wait till Spring to decide what to do with wheels or tires or both. Maybe 235/45/17's? Gotta check the diam. chart.

Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires are well liked around here for their overall quality, wet/snow traction, and high performance dry traction.

Thanks, but, I already ordered my Weather Techs. Arrive just before car can be picked up. My body side mldgs. will be here Wed. from Bernardis.

Car will be 3M clear bra'd prior to pick up. Full frontal wrap, 18" hood and wings, mirrors, door coves, door edge, and front door sill kick plate...just below. Dealer gave me a steal on that.

Can't wait to get her on the road. In good weather. Garaged when too bad.

OK...I did the research. Stock tires: 225/50/17's are 25.9" in diam. 225/45/18's are their proper match, also 25.9" diam. Maybe I'll put some 18 Conti's on my ASA wheels and sell off the 235's. Always something to play with!!

I had a long coversation with Tanner at Tire Rack about acceptable or "OK" tires sizes for my TSX. Tire Rack does their homework and they keep stats on all cars.
They can't afford to give out bad info. Tanner has been "my guy" there for some time.
He said they show the 225/45/18 AND the 235/45/18's as replacement sizes for the stock 225/50/17's.
The 235/45/18's are .4" larger in diam. The std. used in the tire industry is within 3%. He did say that they would not alter the speedometer's speed reading.
Yes, the 225's are the exact diam. match. So, I believe I will buy a set of TPMS's and probably put my wheels and Conti. DWS's on the TSX. I have done this before on other Honda Motor Corp. vehicles. True, over a long period of time there would be a very slight difference in the odometer. Not enough to worry about.

As I mentioned earlier....Silver Moon is the color I bought. Only automatic they had in a '13 model.

Weather Techs will be shipped most likely tomorrow. Body side mldgs. arrived today from Bernardi's.

I will pick it up next Tues. Can't wait.

I also bought a decoder kit for led DRL. All led in interior as well as trunk and license plate. Also dropped a 12' earthquake sub with earthquake 2000 watt comp mini amp.looking to get roof spoiler as well as cold air intake next. I love this community have seen alot of ideas. Im actually wondering where to find a comptech carbon fiber grill that has been discontinued. Any ideas on a similiar look because im going for the red and black chrome theme. Thanks again everyone.

I'm really confused why you chose this thread to tell your car's life story and ask an unrelated question. If you want this to be seen either make a new thread, or post in the "General info thread" to ask your question.
