0-60 times for 09 TSX?

Are there any specs of 0-60 times for the AT and MT of the 09 TSX yet?

You posted in the thread that had it. I don't think anyone else has tested it yet.

From Jeff @ TOV.

If you're wondering how it did at the track, it did okay - 0-60 in 7.6 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 15.8@88.5 (it was so consistent I did 3 consecutive 15.8s). The car could definitely do a bit better than that - there were significant grip issues - I was launching at part throttle, just off idle, and then ramping into it - otherwise I would get a lot of wheelspin and/or axle hop. And driving it today, I think the car actually feels stronger now - I performed a 5-60mph run and the performance computer registered 7.2 seconds. I need to analyze the numbers from that run and compare it to one of the 15.8 runs to see how they line up. While it may not be a burner at the strip, on the street this car feels like it has more "everyday" speed to offer than the '08 TSX.

Ask new owners
I guess, there is not big difference between AT & MT , 0-60 times

According to Motor Trend, the 0-60 time for the 5AT is 6.5 seconds.

Thanks for clearing that up. What did they have for the 6MT?

They don't. This in the section at the back that lists years and makes of all vehicle test data. Only shows the 5AT on that list. Why it wasn't included in the test article is beyond me.

What month R&T was this? May's had a TSX preview, not a test. If it was tested in the June issue the spec charts that appear at the back only get edited with the acceleration #'s the month AFTER a car was tested. So they should appear in July.

Never mind. I saw in the other thread that you said May issue. You sure you weren't looking at a time for a first gen 6MT? Like I said earlier, those charts only get edited the month after a road test. And the 'new' entry will be in red text.

I'll check it when I get home.

If you have it, check out the very back section of the magazine (the listing of their road tests, dates, etc.), not the actual TSX article. I'm almost positive I saw 09....if it says 08, I'll eat crow....well done, please. I was waiting to be admitted for a colonoscopy, so I may have erred in my perception of the year model in my zeal for performance info. I'll wait the verdict, your honor!

2009 Acura TSX
Base price: $28,960

Price, as tested: $35,494

Powertrain: 2.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder with variable-valve timing; six-speed manual transmission; front-wheel drive

Horsepower: 201 at 7,000 rpm

Torque: 170 pound-feet at 4,300 rpm

Curb weight: 3,419 pounds

0-60 mph: 6.5 seconds

Wheelbase: 106.5 inches

Overall length: 185.6 inches

EPA fuel economy: 20 miles per gallon city, 28 mpg highway

Final thoughts: TSX, pronounced "tsk, tsk"

That is two sources...we think.

hmmm so 6.5 is correct, but in that article it doesn't state 6.5 done in MT or AT.

So had a look at the Road test summary section at the back on May's R&T and the only Acura's listed there are an 07 MDX and a TL-S. Neither of which are listed at 6.5.

I guess I'm probably one of the two owners of a 2009 TSX whom you're referring to. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to see what the 0-60 time is with the AT. Pretty busy at work lately - not enough time to enjoy the new car. Maybe this weekend...

That review lists the manual at under 7 seconds and the automatic just barely slower. Not specific though.

This is a couple of sources now that have placed the 0-60 below 7 seconds. If this indeed is true then I'm very impressed. Considering the weight gain as well as the HP and torque numbers when compared to the Gen1 I expected a slower car, something in the high 7 territory. If Acura can pull all that off and a sub 7 second 0-60 (6.5 according to Dan Neil of the LA Times) and then color me impressed.

Drive It For Yourself

I did, and let me be clear there is no way the 09 TSX I drove is capable of a sub 7 second time.

I have to agree. I drive a 03 Accord Coupe V6 which does 0-60 in the 6 second range. I drove the new TSX and there is no way its that fast The difference is night and day. I would believe something in the 8 second range, for the TSX.

You're still expecting that one or two of the brand new owners has taken the car to some road and done 0-60 tests themselves? While still in the break-in period??

As I used to say in Technical Support," Please send me some of your drugs so I can duplicate your expectations...."

From Edmunds full test thread

The 2009 Acura TSX is also an easy mark for almost any family sedan with a V6, especially when equipped with the five-speed automatic. We tested a TSX with the five-speed and its 0-to-60-mph time fell to 8.6 seconds (8.3 seconds with 1 foot of rollout like on a drag strip). That's slower than all four of the family sedans in our last comparison test which included the Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry.

8.6 vs. sub-7? In certain circles and for other questions, two seconds of difference is not that meaningful.

I nearly fell out of my chair when I read that. The TSX was made for people like you,...2 seconds is not meanigful. When your talking 0-60 times my friend it is a huge deal and jus about the difference between fast and slow
