I'm pretty sold on the thruxtons too. I put up those 5 wheels because they were some of the ones I liked the best off this one canadian site that has good wheels and tires.
I do also like the look of the Mondello's.

And to firePR I put up the vortexs because they were the closest I could find on the site that resemble the MMR HR2s. "Superb" has them on his 2G and they look SICK.

I'm not entirely sure yet. I priced out a set of Thruxtons with Toyo Proxes T1R ZR tires for just under $2400 CAD with shipping. That's about as much as I want to spend.

I can't afford 19s though, and I don't want my ride to suffer more than it has to, nor my weight to increase unnecessarily.

I'm not really looking for super huge looking wheels. I'm hoping that if I can get my hands on a lip kit and some tein basic's they will complete the look I want.

than 18" toyos. Thanks for the offer though.

Thruxtons will not be as fly in 18. I would definitely buy the 19's from 02.

Shit well if a few of you agree maybe I need to look for another wheel. At no point did I want to put 19s on my TL. I know it would look sick,
especially in the thruxtons, but I simply wanted some nice 18s and be happy with that.

Even with the deal 02 would give me it would still cost me more with 19" tires than getting brand new 18s on brand new rubber.

If you guys care to look out of pure interest or care to help me with my search I plan on purchasing my setup from 1010tires.com. They're a good canadian site with reasonable prices, decent selection and good shipping.

If you want 18s, something with straight, non-curved spokes, 1 single color, and minimum lip will appear bigger.

Thanks 02, I do have a preference for 5 spoke wheels (straight spokes) usually with a little lip.
I'm thinking that a nice darker, shiny silver would look perfect on my EBP. I do want the thruxtons,
but if they won't work in 18s I won't settle for less than an awesome look.

How about these montages:
I'm not sure

I've been looking at all of TSW's wheels on different cars. Whoever said the vortexs looked too stock they were right,
they're not nearly as sick as the MMR HR2s. I've seen the Mondellos on a few acuras now and I'm not sure if I'm a fan.
I'm thinking the Montages might look pretty good, some nice thick 5 spokes, but again not sure.

I need to see if there's a local shop that carries TSWs or some other nice brands of wheels so I can check them out in person. Reason I'm asking all of you guys
is simply because we all own TLs and know what looks best on them. I don't want to blow 1000-1200 bucks on garbage wheels.

here's some shots of the Montages on different cars:

I had the TSW Montage in 19's on my TL back in '05. Dont think I have pics of it anymore. They were nice but I got rid of em cuz of the low offset and I wasnt looking to do any fender mods at that time.

Hey man, thanks for the comment about them. They come with a 40mm offset, so if I were to get them in 18 x 8 and dropped
my TL on some tein basics would I need to do any fender modding?

If you could possibly find some pictures of them on your TL I would greatly appreciate it.

Yeah I'm not much of a fan of them on that TSX either, so it worries me that they may not look as awesome on my TL as they do on the other cars pictured above. Having a picture of them on a TL would help me make up my mind for sure.

Okay so after reading the entire "rim/tire fitment thread" I came to realize that none of TSWs rims will fit unless I roll my fenders (which I don't want to do)...therefore I'm going to try and stick with 18 x 7.5 and a 45+ offset...here's what I was thinking:

5-zigen Gravis-I 18x7.5 48mm offset 5 x 114.3 (pretty much perfect)

They're going for a cheap $195.99 CAD a wheel from 1010tires.com, so I was thinking of picking these up as soon as I can since they're discontinued.

What do you guys think?

I've been a fan of the Gravis, but you can run a more aggressive offset without rolling your fenders. Just ask 02type-s

I did in fact pm him haha. He rolled his fenders to fit his thruxtons that have a 40mm offset. I mean sure I could try to cut my tabs
and and trim the fender lips, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. Besides, the deal I can get on those gravis' is great, and
I'm hoping the rim design will actually make them look bigger than 18s

Then go for it They will look great on the TL. I know I wanted them for a while, but now I'm more into a performance oriented wheel.

Worst news possible. 5zigen discontinued them so there was limited stock left, and when I emailed the site
I was ordering from if there was any left I was told they're all gone in my size...

I was super stoked to get those gravis' but now I have to keep looking. If you guys don't mind, want to chime
in with your opinions on these rims. Reason I picked them is because these are my favorites on the canadian site I plan to buy from.

I have no idea where to look. I was hoping to stay canadian to avoid ridiculous brokerage shipping charges, and then of course the exchange rate.

I've essentially decided on picking up the Enkei EKM3's...after seeing the RPM2s on MurdaZ's TL I find myself really liking how they look. I plan to go with them in hyper silver to better offset the EBP.

Thanks for all the input
