I guess that seems about right. Is it a good shop you trust?

Please take some pics before and after if you can. I am in the market for some springs so I want to see what it will look like with the stock rims.

100 bucks is cheap compared to the hassle of doing it at home without air tools and a lift
The spring compressor tool is a dangerous weapon in the wrong hands
and can maim or kill- usually your friend that was standing by the side watching
Let a pro do it if you dont own the required tools

$100 is a very good price. You're better off having a shop do a spring install. Coilovers you can do yourself easily.

wow $100! you got the number of the shop? I'm located in sd, and I need to find a place that can install shocks when I decide which ones to get, but the cheapest I've found is 150.

It's true. It happened to me when my father was using one to install new struts on my old car. We used a crappy rentway spring compressor without the box-like frame surrounding it to protect you. The claw was chipped and the spring nailed my pops in the mouth drawing blood from his lip and then rebounded at my forehead. Felt like I was punched really hard and it happened all in the blink of an eye. No fun.

Yeah he was alright, he just busted his lip and had a bruise on his jaw afterwards, luckily he didn't loose any teeth. If you ever use a spring compressor be careful to torque down each of the tensioning bolts a little at a time and do it very evenly across all three of them. The one i had was simply broken from the get go, it had a chip missing from one of the clamps and I got the a full refund on the tool when I returned it to rentway.

Same. Except, the 4 shops I called all wanted MORE than $200 to install. LoL. So instead, I got a few guys together and we did it one late night in the winter. No spring compressor FTW! lol.

Probably put in coilovers!

Althoug I have witnessed someone take an air gun to the top nut and just blast it off- the spring has an impressive rate of travel when released!

No sir.
Tein S-Techs on mah car.
You get two tires, put the whole asslemby in between the tires on the ground, loosen the top nut thingy, and when the assembly "explodes" the tires take the impact. We did it 4 times (obviously) and 3 poped just a little w/ hardly any rebound. 1 did shoot the nut across the room.
Highly dangerous. I wouldn't recommend it. But the guy who was actually loosening them had done it plenty of times (Used to working in unorthodox methods on builds).
We did the entire install in a garage in January w/ 1 little heater, all hand tools, a 1 jack and 2 jack stands. LOL. I can't wait to put my coilovers in in a few weeks at a garage w/ a lift, air tools, and cooling.
