Or you can get the tokico illuminas and have it on the softest setting.

will that be pretty much like the stock shocks? How much are the stock shocks? I mean are the tokico's better? Im about to get new ones also, and since I am lowered I assume I should go with aftermarket.

The illuminas allow for 5 damping settings. The HPs are about the middle setting (2-3) of the illuminas. Unless you track your car there's no need for adjustable damping IMO. Unless you get the Tein's with EDFC so you can adjust the damping on the fly.

I would say go with the Tokico HP's. Think about it, how often would you adjust the dampering on your struts? Not too often, so you save yourself some paper and go with the HP's. They are still good struts.

what about compared to stock? I know the stock ones arent made for the lower springs, so is the main difference between stock and aftermarket is the aftermarket ones can take the lowered stance? Just trying to weigh my options.

The reason you ain't getting no answer is your question is vague at best. For starters how 'bout helping yourself and using the search feature cause this topic has been discussed more than a handful of times.

loaded question..

1st timer, you asked a loaded question when you ask the question on the sturts.. First of all what is your tast in cars (what are you use to driving in the past) and are you an aggressive driver? I personally think my 2002 tls stock suspension sucks for it is too soft and can not handle worth beans.. But since I added the CT springs, sway bar and koni yellows (current settings on the koni adjustable is soft at the fronts and 1/2 turn from soft in the rears) the car is an animal on the road.
BTW, I plan to go a littler firmer in te fronts (maybe 1/4 to 1/2 turn from soft).

The mods will defintally change your ride but again, I do not know your tast and if you like the stock struts, I will sell you my OEM parts I figure you dislike the stock since you are planning to get replacments but its really your call.

trip to the bay area..

If you are in town, I will let you ride my car and you can see the difference.. My ride is the best of both worlds, tight on the hadling but smooth on surface roads.. I will not think you will be disappointed. The other day on the fwy i had to make a sudden manuveur (sp) for a car was coming into my lane when I was a high speed. I had to swerve (with out braking) to the emergency lane and snap back into the lane with NO issues. I did not even have time to horn or brake but the summary is that the new suspension can really get you out of some jams..

The point is that with adjustable shocks you can custom tune the handling dynamics of your car. The stock TL has lots of understeer tuned in by the factory. If you replace all four shocks with the same non-adjustable ones, you still end up with lots of understeer.

So for people still using OEM sway bars, they may want to set the rear shocks harder to make the car handling more neutrally. Later on if they replace the sway bars with aftermarket ones, they will want to soften the rear shocks because the stiffer sway bars will reduce the understeer or increase the oversteer of the car. Even different makes of aftermarket sway bars have vastly different stiffness. So with adjustable shocks, you can dial in different settings to maximize the handling performance of your car, and to suit your driving style (mild/heavy understeer/neutral/oversteer).

Yep, you should take a ride in Tnguye3's car to see if that is what you want. Firm and comfort are very subjective. Your firm may mean soft or even harsh to others.

For my car with stock suspension and CT sways, I always think its too soft on flat roads and too firm on rough roads. But it might mean different to you.

OK, THANKS and to answer your questions, I do hate my stock struts they are way to soft.... and they are no way near the response i want in my car (handling wise) So, from what you say you too fell yellow koni's are the way to go right??
since I have eibach shocks do u suggest the same sway bars too??

Mr L..

I telling you that everyone with this car (2002 tls) should do thiese mods (sways, springs and struts) for you will see the difference int he 1st minute you drive the car. I can not tell you on any other products, for I have CT springs, CT sways and koni yellows. I would assume that the springs and the sways should be the same what even vendor you have and the difference will be in the struts. I had the yellows and CT's in my NSX and if they are good enough for that car, I would assume they are good enough for the TLS..

The hugh difference was in the sways and the struts for I had the springs with stock equip for 2 years and hated it for it was still soft. I telling you that you will not regret the mods if you enjoy to drive..
