I'm curious if it's possible to put wheels from the 02/03 TL on the 99 TL. I would really like to have those on my 99. Is it possible, would it mess up the drive axles or dimensions and stuff?

Thanks, because I did some research and noticed that the tire specs in 02 and 03 are exactly the same: 205/60R16

But the Type-S rims/wheels have a different tire spec than the base model TL through the 02 and 03 years and even the 99-01 year. The Type-S model is 215/50R17. Since they sit on 17 inch rims.

I'm just trying to make sure that it doesn't affect gas mileage or the speedometer and such.

They will fit fine but you will need different tires because it's a 17" rim and not a 16" one

But I will have to buy new tires for all 4 rims/wheels. Where as if I just order the regular TL rims on the 02/03 model they just automatically fit the tires I am currently using on my TL.

eh... save your money and wait to get type s rims... trust me its worth it why upgrade tlp rims to... tlp rims again? unless atleast its the 04+ model since atleast they're 17s

It has been done and looks good, but shop carefully! For the price of a good set of OEM TL-S rims you could get a set of aftermarket wheels as well.

you would need 215/50/17 tires if you got Type S wheels. also familiarize yourself with the "sticky" postings at the top of each forum and sub forum..also, the search function will save you from asking questions many times! get the CL Type S wheels 01-02 version (17x7)..they are 1/2" wider than the TL Type S (17x6.5) wheels...good luck!! hint, look in the black market forum for a used set or www.finishlinewheels.com for about $169 a piece I think
