Mistake of a lifetime! 19"s don't fit

For all of us out there on the quest to find the rim for them, this is the big mistake that everyone should avoid: 19" x 8.5" with +45 offset don't fit. More specificly the axis Hiros and to be even more specific, FUCK WHEELSNEXT.COM. They told me that these rims would fit, also sent me a rim that had splattered paint (gunmetal color) and gouged dime size scrapes into two other rims and then HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME THAT I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING THE DAMN RIMS BACK TO THEM. THe rims are too wide in the front and stick out about a half an inch. This is A BUYER BEWARE FOR WHEELSNEXT.COM: DO NOT BUY RIMS FROM THEM. They ship out defective and damaged rims and find the buyer responsible for the damages that they inflicted on the rims. Please everyone learn from my bad mistake. It costed me $2350, hopefully it doesn't cost you a dime.

Anyone else have any problems from wheelsnext.com?

just ordred a set of c2's from wheelsnext last week, they will be here tuesday. So far I haven't had any problems, except for the fact that they won't give me a tracking number, which I think is retarded....

Damn! that sucks. 19X8.5 seems a little wide. How big are your tires? If you scale down to 235-35-19 maybe you should be ok. If you charged on your CC why not dispute?

Got any pics to see just how bad they do not fit. I thought about the Hiro for my CLS, but have read the arguments about them looking better on a RWD car.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Let us know how this all works out. Stories like this makes me skeptic about purchasing over the 'net. Godd luck!

Sorry for your misfortune with those wheels. But we all know that 8.5" is way too wide for a 2nd gen TL.
You as a consumer should have done your due diligence to ensure you know exactly what you're buying. Don't take the sellers word for it, they are in the business of making money and closing the sale. And most times they're reading fitment info out of a book with no real world fitment experience with any particular model. Shame on wheelsnext for saying it would fit; but shame on you for not doing your homework. It's a 2-way street....I guess live and learn.

some 19x8.5s will fit. SOME, and it's not a lot.

I agree and I did do penty of research before i purchased however he is a dealer and he has a obligation to NOT MISINFORM customers about fit issues. If les schuwab were to tell you that a tire would fit and it didn't wouldn't you find les schuwab responsible for misinforming you? They have more expirence with tires and such right? That was my outlook on the situation...

I did the exact same thing you did and got my rims yesterday. I put them on today and they are rubbing in the back. The wheels are a +42 offset. Everytime I go over a bump it rubs. What should I do? Would cutting that tab off in the back and rolling the fenders make the wheels fit? I am so pissed they are rubbing.

Well, I just got mine in today.... I'm putting them on and installing my comptech springs all at once tommororw. Luckily, i got mine in a +44 rather than the +42 (i really wanted the +48 version that the c2s come in, but they didnt have them in stock and im impatient). Knowing about your experience, I will at least cut my tabs before putting the wheels on. ill let you know how it goes....

BTW.... what tires did you get? 235s or 225s?

I thought the RH C2 in 19's are 19X7.5 with +44 off set only? I could be wrong...

if you guys are running a higher offset like myself with a wider than 7.5" i would roll your rear fenders. The process involves curling the lip of your rear fender so it doesn't rub on the tire/rim when you corner, slam the car, or hit a bump. Mine costed $150- at a creditable shop and they did a clean job. My advice too would be to ask them if they roll the fenders or do the clamp them. When my shop "rolled" my fenders unfortunatly they also flared them slightly. It isn't noticeable when you aren't looking for it, but for a perfectionist, it is very apparent... With the clamp style, you shouldn't have that problem.

i'm getting my fenders rolled this afternoon. I hope they do a good job. I also noticed that I have to get my tires balanced. The guy who sold me the tires told me that the wheels come balanced and rotated. But that is not the case with my wheels

With 19's getting your fenders cut and rolled is a neccisity. Unless it's just you driving and no passengers you are going to rub no matter what on turns. 150 to get your fenders rolled DAMN that's a lot of dough. I did mine myself in about 20 min then I put on coilovers and got a shop to roll them all the way and cut out the plastic fender for 60 bucks.

It's not the diamter of the wheel that will determine if rolling/trimming will be required but moreso the offset of the wheel. A low offset regardless of diamter would cause rubbing and therefore would require rolling/trimming of the fender.
Get the right offset and forego all this body-altering crap.

I know it's the offset I was just stating that it would be a smart thing to if you had 19's on your car. If your wheel hits your fender right you're fucked and you could have a new gash in your brand new tire. Roll and cut your fenders regardless of the offset w/ 19's on a TL. It doesn't effect the look and it's a great releif of stress.

I don't think you get it....

1. If you got the right offset regardless of wheel size, you DON'T have to roll your fenders, even with 19's
2. If you got the right offset your tire will NOT hit the fender.

Making an educated purchase will eliminate having to fuckin' alter your car as you are recommending.

Hello...Tell them to listen. Do a search on here. There were plenty of guys (including myself) with 19s and NO ROLLING of the fenders. The only thing that had to be done was trim the infamous rear bumper tab.......

OG TLers rule.....

P.S. as far as how low you could go....how does Ground Controls all the way down

I don't know about you guys but I got 19x8 w/+52mm offset on 225/35/19 tires. NO rubs at all with a H&R Sport drop and five people in the back seat.

yes it is...should do research next time before buying rims. don't take what those guys say at the rims shops seriously unless you know they know what they are talking about.
