Lowering problem with wheel gap.

Hey everyone I'm new to this forum, haven't done much to my TL. Just recently lowered my car with Eibach Pro kit. It's weird how the front has higher wheel gap then the rear . I don't like the look of it, I researched before purchase the kit. Thought it would be 1.7 for front and 1.5 for rear. I called Eibach tech and they said something bout cutting the bump stop, which I did not. But I don't think that would make the car sit high??

Possible that you accidentally put them on backwards? Did the springs not sit right in the tophats?

This is a possibility. There have been rare occurrences where members have installed the springs on the wrong end or upside down. They then noticed a strange ride height similar to your situation.

the front should have a slightly larger gap if you want the car to sit level. The front wheel arches are higher than the rear

i agree, for a level drop the rear will have less fender gap than the front. That doesn't mean the rear is sitting lower than the front.

I am one of the few member to try the B&G kit and i love it, nice ride and excellent handling. It a pretty level drop, and does have a more fender gap in the front than rear. The front has slightly less than a 2 finger gap and the rear is about a 1/2 finger gap, still need to get a camber kit on the rear so that may change.

no my buddy installed it right at the shop. I read instructions very well, but did not bother to trim the bump stop. I wonder if this gonna make the car sit higher.

could always get in there and cut out the bump stop (shouldnt require pulling the whole strut/spring out). and I dont recall what the shape is but if it is somewhat of an "accordian" shape, cut the first top section of the bump stop then split it in half to pull it off and see if it helps?

Hmmm. I thought it maybe have been a significant difference. My Tein Basics are all set the same with a one finger gap in the rear and 2 finger up front. I guess you'd have to lower the front a little more than the rear with a very slight raked look to solve the uneven gap issue. You'd need coils, ground controls or koni sports with adjustable perches to do that.

my konis were always a little lower in the front (very last perch) than the rears (third to last perch)

my FF1s are the same way

rake and you'll crack an oil pan

eibach says to cut the bump stop, but that doesn't mean you absolutely have to...

Springs evenly drop "the body". you have to get coils to have an even gap, you would have to be raked because of the fenders being higher like fsttyms1
