H&R OE drop pic request
i'm getting sick of my comptech drop.
too much scraping on these NJ roads.
i keep scraping my header downpipe.
my rear springs are rusted to shit.
but i don't want to go back to stock.
i think the H&R OE spring set is just what i want.
any suggestions?.
can someone with the H&R OE drop post some pics?.

You have to be careful. Are you talking about the original OE or the 50103 (which I believe is the new OE).
The original OE dropped the front less and the rear more than comptech for a reverse rake.
The 50103 is about the same as comptech.
One thing that looks good is the original H&R OE front w stock rear.

Thanks for the kind words!
Mine are the H&R OE Sports (light grey springs - 51858-55). H&R lists the drop as 0.75"F/0.5"R. I measured the ride height at each corner before and after the drop and it was 1"F/0.75"R.
I like these springs because for me they're a nice compromise between lowering the car slightly while still keeping a little ground clearance (for driveways and oil changing) and maintaining a decent ride and not having alignment issues.
I guess it depends on the car but at the ATL meet where the second pic was taken, I saw a couple other 2Gs with H&R Sports and they didn't look any lower than mine
Da_iLLeZt_TL973's car looks like it's slammed on H&R Race springs although I bet the larger tires fill the gap more so with H&R Sports, it looks even lower.

What is the difference between Wings West W-TYP2 and W-TYP?
I just got my Wings West rear lip but not sure what kind it is but I m pretty sure that the one I got is pretty much the same as yours

OK, I'm confused, I thought there were now 3 types of H&R springs... 1) The OE which droped the car .75 front & .75 rear, 2) the sport 51858(old type) 50103 (new type) which dropps the car 1.75 front & 1.5 rear, and 3) race which drops the car 2.1 front and 1.75 rear like the new comptech springs and the eibach pro kit. I'm in the same boat. I'm trying to decide between the OEs and the Sports. I have an old set of Comtechs I'm getting rid of in favor of H&Rs and for the record, I live in PA which also has shitty roads.

thx everyone.
so i guess i want the new 50103 spring model....right?.
hey Da_iLLeZt_TL973..
i live in Bridgewater and commute to port jersey.
rte 78 thru the newark area is like a warzone.
and i think my comptech springs are worn.
the rears are badly rusted...
i have the tokico blues on all four corners.
but i don't think they have enough dampening...
either that are they shot...i don't think the tokico blues last very long.
can someone suggest a good place to buy the OE's?.

Thanks y'all!
I got the springs from King Motorsports. I bought all my Mugen sh*t from them and they've been cool with me so I gave them some more business. At the time their price was competitive.
Lots of places sell H&Rs and can get whichever ones you want. I haven't checked any websites recently so I don't know what the going rate is but just google the part number and you'll get a bunch of hits.

Here are some pics of my drop. I've got the OE's and Tokico Blues. Suits me well...not to rough but adds a little better handling and the look I was going for. These aren't great pics but you can kinda get the idea of what the drop looks like.

so.
i bought a set of lightly used h&r OE's. they're grey. 51858-55 model. i did some searching and these may be the springs that sag slightly in the rear.
some have suggested the oe front with stock rear springs.
i have the comptech now.
i'm gonna take pics. put the H&R in front then take pics again.
then maybe put the stockers inthe rear, take pics..then maybe see what these grey H&R springs look like. or maybe see what h&r oe fronts and comptech rears..but my comptech rears are so rusted to their flaking rusty., i really think the car is riding poorly because of these crap rear rusted springs..
and i'm still trying to get my megan flex pipe fixed...

You should take a look at the Tein H-tech. 1.5 F 1.0 R I think that would suit u well. Is it me or the H&R OE drop base on the pics looks more than 1 F and .75 R
Im debating whether to get the H-Tech or the H&R OEs

yea...now supposedly H&R replaced the all grey set with an updated version that were 2 different colors.
so i think you have the updated version.
i'm gonna install the front this weekend.
i'll take pics.
from searching..the rear may sag only for people who have "systems" in their trunk.
we'll see.

thx, CL.
i've been holding out to get the flex pipe replaced with stainless.
but i'm starting to thinking it don't matter.
it's real hard to a piece of stainless tubing.
SSTS just used regular exhaust piping.

told me to go to a meineke on JFK blvd just a few blocks north in Jersey City.
my quest continues.
i'm giving up on the stainless steel replacement.
i can't find stainless tubing anywhere.
at this point, i'm ready to put in some pvc..the black pvc..not the white..
