adjustable ride height with bottom mount. This allows us to retain full shock travel.

so instead of the usual Tein coilovers where you adjust the spring height ie. lower or higher up the shock body.. its the lower portion that you can move up and down so spring stays where it is supposed to stay.....

i think i got that right...

Type I Coil-over
This is the first coil-over that Function and Form developed and distributed. It has since made a return, with improvements to design and functionality. This entry-level coil-over targets the consumer who is looking for height adjustability without the steep asking price. The Type I coil-over is a full bodied coil-over, not a lesser quality sleeve-over that many competitors offer. It is fully threaded and height adjustable to provide a comfortable ride in any import car. The Type I is a quality, durable, and cost-effective product for the consumer that seeks an innovative entry-level product for their automobile.

Oh I was just in the thought that you guys were being sarcastic and that something was not good about them. But maybe I'll look into them once I search around more.

f2 and ksports and omni and other smaller companies are pretty good coilovers now days.

if you look them up, they get great reviews across the board.

Had a few quick questions on the F2s. Decided to bring this old thread back instead of make a new one-

i) approx. what are the spring rates that are on the type 1 and type 2? not wanting anything too stiff, looking at something around 6k/8k

ii) is there really any diff between type 1 vs type 2 other than the dampening adjustment? Is dampening adjustment really necessary for daily driving? I've had coilovers before without dampening and don't mind the ride. I want to keep it somewhat comfertable on a 2.5 - 3" drop.

iii) for those who have it, are they quite durable? Any leaks? etc..

Overall I'm looking at a coilover set up but undecided between Tein vs F2. I like the idea of indipendent adjustment on the F2 and want to go for a low drop. Suggestions?

Thanks!

Never looked into Megans. How do you like them? From a quick read on their site, seems pretty good.. comparable to SS?

Also, looking at their site seems the spring rates are pretty high. How do you like them? Saw some pics of your ride and thats around the height I want to be at. What are your wheel specs and do you have room to go lower?

Ksports are the most that I've seen in magazines that I read (Import Tuner & Project Car Mag). They not only have ads of them but they've also made DIY's on how to install them on their project cars.

^ ksport, Function&Form, Megan, Buddyclub, HKS, Zeals, Omni are all full coilovers that have lower shock body adjustable so you can achieve lower stances compared to Tein SS or Tein Basics which only adjust by the spring perch..

if you want to be really low and run aggressive wheels, i'd look into something stiffer so you don't bottom out

Only 6/8k? Fail. Get Teins.

ii) is there really any diff between type 1 vs type 2 other than the dampening adjustment? Is dampening adjustment really necessary for daily driving? I've had coilovers before without dampening and don't mind the ride. I want to keep it somewhat comfertable on a 2.5 - 3" drop.

As I can see.. you just want something soft. Get Teins.

iii) for those who have it, are they quite durable? Any leaks? etc..

I've had mine for quite some time and it has held up well, but they're too soft for me. So I switched over to some custom made track coilovers.

Overall I'm looking at a coilover set up but undecided between Tein vs F2. I like the idea of indipendent adjustment on the F2 and want to go for a low drop. Suggestions?

Yeah.. well, they get their parts from Taiwan and have it mass produced. All under dampened and valved for maximum fail. But it's okay, because if you just want something for DD and to slam.. you're alright.

12/10k, dampened and valved for epic stiffness. Cost like an arm and a leg though. - _-;

Thanks for the input guys! I just have a prefrence to get a lower shock body coilover over one that doesn't. But if the height I'm wanting is reasonable to achieve w/ the Teins then it shouldn't be a problem.

The reason why I say 6/8k is it's what I currently have on my Sol so it's what I'm used to. But guess I'll go into something more stiff. Interested in any other feedback on Megans too. Sucks cause it took me forever to decide which coilovers to get for my Sol and now I'm trying to figure it out for the TL
