Blown shocks?

So I recently got my Tein coilovers in December and had them installed last month. Opened box from XLR8. The front seems kinda bouncy and every time I try to adjust the dampening, it doesn't do anything. Asked an alignment shop if it was just the spring rates or if the shocks were blown and they told me it was just the spring rates. Asked a few friends and they said I should go get it rebuilt. I take my car to the mountains a lot and it doesn't bother me a lot but I get kinda afraid sometimes. Thoughts on what I should do?

Did you have them professionally installed, or did you install them yourself? How low do you have the car? The spring preload and ride height are not independently adjustable with the Street Basis and Street Advance, so if you have the car pretty low, you'll sacrifice ride quality. Feel free to send me an email at Tom@ExceleratePerformance.com if you have any questions.

I had them installed at the shop my dad works at. I don't have it super low, maybe 2-3 fingers front the tire. I'll contact you if anything

are you adjusting the dampening by turning the adjuster on top full clockwise (gently!!)
then down how many clicks you want?

My 01TL is set at Teins suggested starting point for the spring perches
and I run them at ~DOWN/LEFT to 6 of 16 settings. Towards the low end of = softer ride

Run them at 16 for backroads fun
Sacrifice ride but tightens the rebound so it hops over bumps instead of wallowing thru them
Changes of 1 or 2 clicks is hardly noticeable

Note: turning the knob below 16 clicks counter-clockwise (lefty loosey) can damage the internal parts

see if the installing tech read the directions and set them at 16 BEFORE installation on the car
I don't know why- but remember that from years ago

a crazy thought. Its possible to install other brands springs on opposite ends of the car = front on rear
results in funny handling as the spring rates are different

Are your strut tophats in good condition?

I figured since it seemed blown, I might as well turn the adjustment knob to all the way to the right. I remembered from the guide book that it said if you were to go past 16 clicks, it would damage the internals. I turned it all the way and then it stopped. Push down on the car and it didn't bounce. It was just on full soft. I felt so happy and dumb at the same time.
