I bought a used 2001 TL and was told at the dealership the transmission has been replaced. The numbers on the tag are B7WA8042358 and below are IP 7 W32. Is there a way to tell what year this trans is out of? I am hoping it's out of a newer Accord so I can rest easy on having problems. Thanks in advance!

Perhaps the dealership could tell ya when and at what mileage the tranny was replaced.
That info may help put your mind at rest a bit.

 

On the stickers does it say "RMK" anywhere? if so it was factory rebuilt, also check if it has the oil jet kit on the fill bolt, if it does then you have a bad one.
Being that its a B7WA more than likely it was rebuilt or replaced with a donor car.

To verify have a look at the vin number on the trans and see if it matches to the one from your car, if they don't match then you can use carfax website to find out what year exactly the trans is from, just enter the vin from the trans.

Tip: Vin plate is green, its located on the trans under the battery near the ground cable.
