well i was supposed to be back in jersey today...

but while i was going about 80 mph i suddenly lost the ability to accelerate and my rpms were jumping as if i was in neutral with no response... smoke started to come up from underneath the hood and then when i pulled over there was a puddle of tranny fluid underneath the car.

i had it towed to a shop, and it will be looked at tomorrow. im so pissed. no engine lights came on no tranny slipping, no signs what so ever! just gone.

i hope somebody can give me some not so expensive news.

i had my tranny replaced october of 06 and i am now out of warranty for it. terrible day for me.

could be a busted trans cooler line. if the trans cooler got clogged in 1 port maybe the rubber line busted? thats the only thing i could think of.

the mechanic it got towed to cant find any leaks or anything, they said the car drives fine now, and theres nothing wrong with it. they added tranny fluid and it runs normal. im nervous about taking this on a 450 mile trip after this ordeal i dont want to be stranded on the side of the road again. is this something that just happens sometimes? ah this is crazy

get the check engine light codes from auto zone or pep boys and post them up, we can help you out with them.

just wanted to update everyone... my trans had a massive leak of some sort i believe the service advisor said somewhere that attaches to the torque converter (im not pos.) but long story short my transmission had to be replaced and at 85% off it came out to around $460.

i now have a 3 yr 36k mile warranty on it. The recalled part of the trans did not fail and apparently this was a fluke of an occurance, but acura did a lot to help being im at 117k miles. to top it off my 3rd attempt back to nj which was last night resulted in a speeding ticket in VA! (sry no f the cop thread coming, i deserved it) but yeah, fun week!

At least it didn't cost you much and you're back on the road
