Angry Weird Head Light Problem

So I have gotten aftermarket HID headlights on my 03 TL-S. After few months of driving last week I had a weird problem. My left headlight went out (low beam) and the high beams turned on but they are barley glowing. Both high beams are on but they are like faded. When i turn the high beams on only one high beam works (right side). WTF ? My dash doesn't show if the high beams are on or not ether ?? When I unplug the aftermarket ballast from the power line then the high beams go out and only one high beam and one headlight works properly.

I cannot understand wtf is going on. I will supply the pictures in a few.

Hey WdRg, if everything worked normally before the aftermarket HID installation, then apparently ya gotta go back in and recheck all of the wiring recently done. The HID system should be completely independent of the traditional high beams. They don't share anything, so maybe a loose wire connection or ground is causing the problem ?

Aftermarket HIDs require a little modification. You could've just kept the original ballast and got a different bulb from D2R

Did you change the ballast too or just the HIDS? I had the exact same thing happen to me with my car and it was driving me absolutley insane. The bright lights would only come on at half power when you turn the headlights on and then when you actually turn on the bright lights, only one would come on at full power. Luckily for me there was a member on here who had the same problem and advised me to change the ballast. I changed them to morimoto ballasts and I havent had a problem since.

So ditch the oem ballast and you will be golden.

It could possibly still be the ballast, maybe they were defective upon arrival?

If you have the factory ballast still, switch em out and see if it works. Or ask the company to send you new ballasts. The cheaper aftermarket HID systems tend to malfunction.

I hope this narrows it down for you seeing as how we both had the same issues.

Problem solved. I figured out that Acura has a safety feature when the fuse goes out for your headlight the high beams turn on automatically but only in small glow feature. It was the fuse that was bad lol.
