Weak bass in stock TL stereo
Weak bass in stock TL stereo
Has anyone else noticed the bass being surprisingly weak in the stock system, even when maxed out? I have a 2001 TL with the stock Bose CD/Tape stereo. My 1995 Nissan Maxima had a stock Bose stereo in it and the bass was WAY more powerful, so I'm a little confused. Perhaps an amp went bad? I have no idea. Any help is appreciated!

Have you looked at the bass settings? Crank it to the max and see if it is better; check Balance and Fading. Our bose sound system is not that great; compare to lexus, I thought, just like you, as if our bose system is broken or not working properly, but that is how it is.

I wonder what the best option is for getting more bass. Maybe a new amp? A new sub? Both?
Oh yeah, and I just remembered that the stock Bose system in my friend's 1989 Nissan Maxima cranks out a lot more bass, too.

First off............. No Highs No Lows must be BLOZ!!!
That said, is the sub in the rear deck working? Can you physically hear it? 2nd option is a smaller (150-300) aftermarket amp and drive the sub with that. Mine sounds 300% better that way.

As for the 150-300 amp, do you have any to recommend? Does that mean there will be less power going to the sub?

Get a new deck
I picked up a Pioneer D3 and I noticed a huge difference in audio quality. I really brings out the life in the Bose speakers. It's truly a night and day difference.

I busted my sub in the rear and noticed a huge difference in the sound. Prior to it going 'offline' my system had more then enough bass to listen to and enjoy.
Now if you want to be one of those kids who's trunks buzz, you'll need to add something.
