Water in spare tire well

I have an amp and capacitor in my spare trunk well and after a hard rain last nite the system did not work. Opened the trunk thinking it was a wire loose and found 3 inches of water and my amp and cap under it. Does anyone know where the leak could be coming from? Took it up to acura and they said their acura-care bumper to bumper warranty did not cover leaks. Since im down about 1100 what should i do? Im thinking of claiming it under insurance but i dont know. Any advice suggestions?

I would start to look to see if you can locate where its coming from, any loose drain plugs/gromets . If not, Strip the carpet out of the trunk, climb in with a good flashlight and have a friend start hosing down the bottom side of the car to see if you can locate where its coming in from.

IM 99% sure it is coming from the right rear tail-light. I hosed it down and it was wet by that portion of the trunk.

I had the same problem in my 2000 TL, water in the tire well. It seemed like the gasket for the right tailight was not tight enough, so i cut up an old mouse pad (seemed liek the same material) and cut out a new gasket. I put both the new and old one on and doubled it up, and so far it seems like it worked.

i had the same issue, except i found the water when i went to install my system, i think it came on my drive to NY and i went through the beginings of Katrina rain. i basically caulked everything in the truck, then took that under car spray coating that sprays out black and coats and seals whatever it is sprayed on and so far i seem good to go.

This is happening with my RSX S. This is a common problem and I found the solution for this at .com forum. if anyone wants a link, pm me if u cant find it.
From what most people say, its the tail light gaskets.
I finally got the parts in the mail and going to do the job with a buddy. Il update to see if it fixes my problem
