wants to stall when coming to a stop
2003 acura TL type S 130,000 km's
sometimes when i pull up to a stop light the engine wants to stall out. the rpm's will drop close to 500 or so and it's starting to chug and then picks back up again. might do it a few times at the next few lights and it might only do it once. seems to be intermittent. everything else is fine for driveability and no check engine light.
i was thinking egr or maybe fuel pump. would a tps do this?
any ideas?

I would get the codes checked- see if any EGR related ones come up
Could just be dirty EGR ports, those get plugged bad by your km's
Check the diy for thermoblock spacer install and egr cleaning, you remove the intake manifold to get to the ports.
Other probs would be dirty IAC idle control or dirty injectors-dirty TB throttle plate
You can DIY an intake cleaning for those with seafoam or bg or wynns products
Hows the spark plugs? have you changed them?

You never know. I once bought a new battery and had issues with it within months (e.g., needing to get jumped a lot). The true culprit was my alternator.

i wonder if it is maybe the throttle cable sticking.

yes you are correct you never know. but with your car the problem was the alternator so your new battery was infact good. and i have a good size stereo and have no problems starting or anything like that. this problem happens when the car is already running. and from my previous experiences with alternators they usually just die. never had an intermittent problem with an alternator.
