My outside temp and engine heat gauges work fine. Not too handy with cars, can't for the life of me figure out this wires function.

Thank you so much, I've been looking at radiator diagrams thinking I was crazy! What part would I need to order to replace? Looks like the clip it connects to may have busted when I tore my bumper off on a high curb.

I found the part - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Engine-Coolant-Fan-Temperature-Switch-Standard-fits-01-03-Acura-CL-3-2L-V6-/281673925014?fits=Year%3A2003%7CMake%3AAcura%7CModel%3ATL&hash=item4195130196&vxp=mtr

Would I have to drain the coolant before replacing this fan switch?

Your A/F will definitely drain like super fast if you remove that plug, so yup you will need to drain before you unplug it.
