turn signals stay ON...WHY?!
ok so burnt fuse was replaced. now i got ANOTHER problem. so for our 2g tl's we have 2 clicks on the light switch bar, on the left hand side, behind the steering wheel. The first click turns on the turn signal bulbs, the parking bulbs, and the rear brake bulbs. HOWEVER, right now, when I put mine to the first click, the turn signals stay on and I can't give a turn signal for left or right because it just stays on. For the same reason, when I push the emergency light (triangle button) nothing will happen because the turn signals in the front and rear are all already on, and stays on. This is the same as when I turn on my drl's (hid's) on the second click. When all my lights are off however, I CAN give the turn signal for both left and right, but every time the turn signals blink, the square part of the dash, where it shows how many miles you have on your car so far and the door open/close diagram of the car, dims and brightens. When I turn on the emergency parking lights (triangle button) it also works, but when I open the door it makes the door opened sound every time they blink, and also dims and brightens the little square part on the dash. Here is picture of when the light switch is on the first click. Notice how the green arrows are lit. It stays like that constantly.

ok, since the damage was most likely done by short circuiting, where are the possible damages that i could look for? because i'm gona take it to the mechanic, but i don't want them to charge me up the butt for labor when it takes them 3 hours to just find out where the problem is. thank you 01tl4tl! you seem to know electronics/wiring very well with cars

My bet is there is a short in the turn signal stalk. The easiest way is to buy a replacement but if it's not that, they might not let you return it. Not sure if you can crack open yours to test it.
Part #10 (top left) Will run you about $80 at the dealer.
I'm sure you could find one on Ebay or a junkyard.

Ok, so I just took apart my front end, and took out the resistors for my led switchbacks. The problem is gone! However, when I try to reinstall the resistors, the problem comes back. I think the resistors were burnt out when I shorted the circuit. checked behind the steering wheel at the autoshop, and all of the circuits/wires there were working well. I'll just have to deal with the ricer/hyper blinking, but don't mind too much. Thanks again guys.

I have the 3 ohm resistors. Didn't check the value or whatever it's called. But, it's ok for now, and when the hyper blinking does start to annoy me, I'll maybe just get a new set of resistors.

get the right resistors in before you get a ticket
fast blink rate is meant to indicate a burnt out bulb- to warn the driver
cops see that and figure you have a tail light out,,reason to stop you--
then want a closer look, questions about how low it is,,start measuring headlight height,,,are these lights legal...
