Trouble removing oxygen sensor

Hey guys, when I swapped my headers out, the O2 sensor was stuck in the jpipe and I couldnt get the plug out from where it connects. My friend went ahead and clipped all 4 wires so we could get the pipe out and then get the sensor out. Figured it would be an easy solder, but now its a disaster and keeps cutting out (Ive had TCS, VSA and CEL lights on). I would just buy a new one and try to swap it, however it is basically impossible to get the plug off. Im not sure if I am pulling the right part of it or if theres a clip I'm not pressing, but I had a screwdriver holding down one clip. Has anyone had a problem getting theirs off? Its really hard to get your hand in from above, but I haven't had much luck from underneath either. Should I try soaking it in like WD40 or something beforehand? I know it sounds stupid but I think I spent 30 minutes trying to get it off but it just wouldnt budge. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

dont spray wd or anything on the connector. It can be a pain but it can be done. You must not be pushing the tab enough. Cutting it was the wrong thing to do. Take your time and get it unclipped. If you have a friend a 2nd set of hands and a long screw driver may help.

Next time use a line wrench to break the sensor loose, it makes more contact w the sides and will allow you to really crank on it and get that loose.

I had the same question when I did mine. I finally found out how the connectors are connected.
