transmission leaking

jus swappe dmy car trans was working fine befoer now it started leaking

Swapped for what? Leaking from where? Spell check is your friend.

i swapped the motor and when i put it back together trans started leaking. not sure where its coming from but when i took off the shift linkage oil was everywhere.

I suggest you clean it and see where the oil is coming from

i took the shift linkage off and seen there was a whole bunch of oil everywhere im thinking its a seal

Did a bolt get torqued down too much and the case cracked?

just so we understand correctly, you changed out the engine for a newer one and kept the old transmission? Did you take the torque converter out of the transmission at any time? If so, when you reinstalled the TC you could have ripped one of the seals.

like Thoi said. you will have to completely clean the area to see where the leak is coming from. If it's coming from the very bottom where the torque converter is then you will likely have to pull the transmission to investigate further.

well guys i dropped the trans and i finally found out the problem. seems like the ody block i had on the car pushed the torque converter back and was rubbing against the trans. it had a hairline crack on it but i know the casing is done. on the search for a transmission right now thanks for eveything
